Dreadful penalty from the "set piece specialist".

    Your point is?

Stokes tried to take the ball of him, he had to deal with Lennon running down the line screaming for him to take it and lets face it, its not a nail on ANYONE will put it away.

    People miss, get over it.

My point is that his penalty was dreadful.

There's no excuse for not scoring from 12 yards when you are at home and cruising against Dunfermline, virtually no pressure at all.

There is something insanely wrong with us and penalties. I dunno what it is, Ki's penalty against Rennes was high pressure and excellent. As were some of Stokes, Hoopers first and Commons.

All have since missed penalties after they have proven they are good at them. It's odd and confusing.

Hope you said the same when Larsson constantly missed at Celtic park.

Pressure is someone trying to take the ball from you, and your manager having to settle the debate.

Some of Larsson's penalties were poor as well.

Nah I'm not having that, that was a zero pressure spot kick if ever there was one.

Larsson was dreadful at penalties. We all knew that; we all wanted to avoid him needing to step up to penalties.

Martin O'Neill called it his only weakness but he was forgiven of it.

Now if Ki Seung Yueng matches up to the player of Henrik Larsson in your mind then I don't know what to say to that...

    I never said that.

However, coming down on top of someone for missing a penality and claiming there is no pressure is just silly.

Also, who ever said he was our set peice expert? He has been taking our penalities because the majority of the team are missing them too.

The point I am making with the Larsson comparison is that it is does not really matter what skill level a player has, when it comes to a spot kick it can go either way. Unless your an "expert taker" which I have never heard Ki being called?

Constant needless critisim of the lad.

never thought ki would miss a penalty for us, maybe the keeper would pull off a save, but i didnt think id see the day when he'd miss the target from 12 yards.

imo his problem last night was he tried to sidefoot it in the bottom corner. if i had the power he has from his shots id have put my foot through it and put it high down the middle. he has the ability to blast them in any part of the goal i dont see why he'd sidefoot it. the scary thing is he done the hard part in sending the keeper the wrong way and then he still missed the target :31:

i honestly dont know who our taker should be but we need to get one sorted pronto. we cant afford to constantly keep missing these chances.

I agree that every penalty should at least be on target then it's up to the keeper. It was a terrible penalty lastnight, but they happen.

When I think of some of the imposters who have (dis)graced the hoops past and present and see that a young guy, who imo is a decent and improving talent, recieving 77 pages of (mostly negative from what I've read) criticism is outfuckingrageous.

*, next i'll be hearing that the boy is nae peter grant:38:

I know I'm banging on about it, but Stokes can also hold his head in shame after the penalty miss. He shouldn't have interfered with Ki's preparation by trying to take the ball off him and getting arsey!

He distracted Ki from the task and also put unnecessary pressure on him!

Celtic FC is not a * kindergarten where players can please themselves... it's a multi-million pound business and you play for the win!

He's always played up to be some sort of set piece specialist by his fans, no?

For his passing ability yeah, so stuff like long free kicks and corners. Will take long shot free kicks but not really seen as a close range specialist.

His corners, free kicks and now penalties are vastly over rated.

Compare his conversion stats to Mulgrews for both direct and indirect in terms of assists and goals and you'll see how poor he is at them.

Ki has more goals and more assists than Mulgrew this season?
