Yes Northern Irish. What the * is "Although they chose to play for the NI team" supposed to mean ?? Lenny,McGinn and McCourt chose Northern Ireland because they are from NI not ROI. It shows they are obviously proud and strong to play for NI even though they could get abuse for being Catholic Celtic players.

I'm sure they could've played for the ROI national team if they had wanted to.Maybe I'm wrong.
Yes they may have chosen to play for there because that's where they stayed, but it's no secret they do not see themselves as "Northern Irish" as they are nationalists.

    What? Tell me you're kidding?
Im from the North and I wouldnt let any hun * tell me i have no right to wave my tri-colour.
As many Nationalists believe, we live in Ireland, not * Northern Ireland.
Just you go tell Lenny he has no affiliation to Ireland, and see what he says.

From what I know he is Northern Irish, I have no reason to think otherwise and not being from any part of Ireland myself I wouldn't know how people feel about waving the Northern Irish flag or tri-colour.

Why not just have the green and white, similar to what we did at Ibrox on sunday?

was in not a rule that if you were born there you had to play for the scum?

but it changed recently that you could play for the republic no matter what part of ireland you were born in?

the tri colour is the ireland flag...lenny is irish......

Proud to play for NI? aye right.McGinn and McCourt like most nationalists grew up supporting the ROI. The only reason McCourt played for NI is because he was 19 and at rochdale and NI offered him the chance of international footie. Something he probably thought he would never get as he was at rochdale ffs. Its not like he is going to come out in an interview and say he would rather play for Ireland as then the hate mob would be sending death threats of course. Like wise for McGinn, he was at Derry City when NI came calling. Most nationalist players in NI declare for the ROI if they are good enough and some do even if they arent as proved since Gibson declared for the ROI a few years ago, 8 or 9 players have followed since. Lets be honest where would Paddy rether play at, Windsor park in front of 12,000 people singing sectarian songs or in Dublin?

There is only one Ireland, anyone born on the Island is Irish.

Some people play for the North of Irelands football team but they are still Irish.
