It's a bit odd, I can't remember the last time I heard it at a Celtic game?

Fair point. Maybe songs such as JCGE and YNWA have just taken over. Would love to hear it sung on Sunday.

It's not like we're limited to just one.

90 minutes is plenty of time to fit all of our famous songs in :50:

I know it's one of my favourites.

I've got a signed paque of it from Pete St John (guy who wrote it) because his nephew lived with us for a year in Austraila.

Took him to his first Celtic game and he was gobsmacked at how mcuh it was getting sung, lived in our house for a year and we didn't know until he heard it at the game.

    Top notch guy.

Maybe with the GB being so proactive with the singing, everyone else is getting a bit lazy about starting a song?

The GB seem to favour more uptempo choonz...

I asked the exact same thing at the start of the season, it's one of the best songs when everyone in the stadium belts it out.

    Let the people sing,
Think a problem for the fields being sung outwith the GB section, and being sung by the whole ground is that the add-ons are far too prominent sometimes which completely ruins it.

Yeah - I love the Fields, & the crappy add-ons really shatter the feel of it.

You have to conclude the folk shouting them don't quite get the mood of the song...

Shouldnt let the idiots who sing the add-ons stop us from singing it.
Also YNWA, used to be immense. Thinking back to European nights and games v the huns in years gone by it was always something incredibly special, used to go to the games thinking about it as much as the actual game itself! Nowadays people just don't seem bothered, dont even hold up their scarves. At Celtic Park i honestly think the North stand is to blame, very little people seem to join in and it means that the Jock Stein and Lisbon Lions are always out of time with each other. If your in the North stand, get it sorted!!
