Cha is another guy I am not enamoured with as he is very poor defensivley
and seems to run out of position a lot and leave our defence exposed on the flanks.

In priniciple I am against this Jersey Selling business in the Orient by Peter Lawwell, and in the case of Cha, like Ki I think it results in us bring the wrong type of player to the club if we are looking for long term success and silverware.

    I would sell Cha.

Nah. Keep Cha, get rid of Hinkel. He's a decent backup for Wilson. Andy wants to go anyway. And it keeps Ki happy, who is a young player with great potential.

Cha is absolutely woeful, he should be punted at the first opportunity because Wilson and Matthews will be more than capable.

Cha and Willo bot offer something different and effective on the right. Cha's speed offers a defensive cover that was extremely necessary earlier in the year. He had last ditch clearing headers in the box a few times. As long as CHa is back there it becomes much less likely that we get broken through upon. What's more Cha's crossing in the last game, his first in months, was in fact very dangerous. We can only benefit from keeping Cha.

WIlson is the surer tackler but its not like he's a maldini.

I'm not overly enamoured of Cha - he's solid if unspectacular I think.

Why are you against selling jerseys btw? If we get a decent player out of it and can make the club some money in the process then why not?

Not a fan of Cha at all. Defensively he's poor and he may give us brilliant pace going up the right wing but his final product has much to be desired. I much prefer Wilson, he is far from possessing bags of talent, skill and pace but he always gives 100% to the team. I liked Hinkel but with his contract up at the end of the season and the young bhoy arriving from Cardiff I think it's fair to say that he'll be back to Germany in the summer.

Why do we want to sell all our players?

What the * is going on here?

    Are we losing the league?

    Are we playing pathetically?

Are we constantly been getting beat off the Huns?

WHAT THE * IS HAPPENING HERE?

on topic, though, i like cha.

he's good at running down the wing and playing a good ball in to the box. plus, he scored a goal that turned our season around.

also, he seems a character, with his adverts and stuff. :icon_mrgreen:

Without getting bogged down in semantics Format because I have other work to do, and can't stay tuned into Talk Celtic all day, much as I would like too because there are many very talented and insightful posters on this premier Celtic forum, including yourself and many others and I mean that. I disagree in principle with the Oriental Asian selling business because to date, it has to my mind brought the wrong type of player/s to Celtic, and I don't want to invoke Naka, that's another story altogether. We have lost far more money and part of our support from our lack of success at home and not being in the Champions League for the past two years, than any jerseys sold in the Orient I would suspect.

Your threads have went from verging on ridiculous to actually taking the biscuit.

Cha shone at the World Cup and has proven on many occasions in a Celtic jersey he has talent not to mention blistering pace. He has dug us out holes time and again defensively that folk always seem to overlook when slating him.

He also dug us out a massive hole by scoring a peach against St Johnstone in the 90th minute in a game we really needed to win. I wonder where this thread was after that match?

It sounds like you're taking the automatic stance that any player we sign from Asia is for shirt selling purposes only, which is just ridiculous. Naka was great for us, Ki was young asian player of the year and bought for his obvious potential, and Cha had a good world cup and has been far from terrible in a Celtic shirt.

This is getting * ridiculous, we're top of the league, have a strong squad - best we have had for a while, and people on here are selling half our team! Why not support the bhoys we have instead of criticizing their every mistake. If I didnt know better I would've thought I was on Rangers Media just now, jeez!

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and that but thats a few threads now that I have just thought 'Is he takin' the *'. Whats with all the 'Sell him' nonsense anyway?

So, you don't want to talk about Naka - who was the only one we splashed any real money on and was instrumental in our CL progress during his time here - but you believe that Cha and Ki (I'm assuming you're ignoring Du Wei also seeing as he had nothing to do with the timeframe in question) are the reason for our downfall over the last two years? Cha, who we paid nothing for, and Ki, who we paid little for and is an up-and-coming prospect who's value has likely increased since being here. I'll admit, neither of them were particularly impressive last game and Ki in particular was ineffective, but I think calling for both to be sold is hasty at best and ridiculous at worst. Both players have offered far more than just the oportunity to sell jerseys in "the Orient" (by the way, what century are you speaking from?) though they haven't been consistent world-beaters. Before the Asian cup Ki was arguably one of our best players and Cha was coming into a game when being played at right wing (I don't like him at right-back) and I have no doubt that both will be useful when playing away in Europe next year.

    Cha's decent. Nothing more.

If we get an offer for him - which would represent a profit as we got him for free the club would take it in all likely.

Note we have Wilson, Hinkel and Juarez that can play RB.

Matthews obviously is coming up in the Summer.

    Cha's days could be numbered.
