A very negative attitude towards Keane.
Someone earlier posted a list of his signings while at Sunderland.Considerind that they were being tailed off at the bottom when he took over, his winning of the championship was no mean feat. A lot of his signings were low budget, and loans. Some were sold on at a considerable profit, eg. David Myler.

His main fault is the demands he expects of players as professionals. The man is driven. He's a winner. A phenomenon of the footballing world. He wasn't the greatest player of his era skill-wise, but he gave Man Utd and Ireland an ingredient that no side ever had. One great example was Man Utd trailing Arsenal 1-0 late in the game at Highbury, up stepped Keane to score two to win the game. Another is his performance against Juventus in the CL semi, he beat thim single handed as he carried the whole Irish team in the play-off v Holland. Forget your Peles, Maradonas, Platinis, Cruyffs, Messis and Ronaldos, Keane proved he could do it on his own.

Another thing, this book is all showbiz. Tesco inadvertently launched it three days too soon, main topic on the rags and talk stations all week, beating IS, Ebola and everything else onto the centre pages. Max Clifford or Simon Cowell stunt.

 

Please don't say his sunderland side were loans and small budget

He took over one of the best sides in the division who were only going to improve..

Nothing else in there gives any case for him being a good.manager and a great guy..

 

Trust me on this one,I got a call from Ireland two weeks before Roy signed for Celtic telling me that Roy was indeed signing.

My bro in law was a CEO for a large company in Ireland and his company along with one of DD's companies were doing a charity golf event,and the deal was done on the golf course right in front of my wifes brother,Keane got his medal.
But heres the thing,Roy was on 90,000 a week and we were told that DD payed him out of his own pocket,which means for a 6 month contract Roy was paid 2,160,000,was it not wonderful that DD paid that money out of his own pocket?
Though see heres were it gets tricky,Roy has said that WGS didn't want him but he signed anyway,but here is were it gets even trickier,who paid his wages,for you see Celtic are a PLC and any shareholder is allowed a one time gift (I forget the amount),but its not 2 mil,then we are to believe that Robbie was paid by DD,huh.

They are taking us for * mugs,for if DD paid Roy and Robbie out of his own pocket,it is clear and simply under the rules of a PLC purely * illegal.
Naw you/me/us paid for two players to fulfill their boyhood dreams at tha request of a shareholder,maybe if I played golf with DD I could get the same oppotunity:bbpd:

 

Thank * he isn't Celtic manager. He would spend more time in the stands than on the bench after being pulled up by the SFA twats.
He wasn't the most skilfull of players but he could certainly motivate the team.
Just like Scott Brown does.
I liked him taking the prima donnas at Man Utd by the scruff of the neck and making them a winning team.
Just hope to * he isn't approached.
If Deila goes i would rather have Lambert or Moyes than Keane.

Seriously if i had a pound the amount of times people have bullshitted on the this forum about being a relation or having a pal of a pal who has some way of knowing the in's and outs of the club, i'd be a very rich man. Then with the money i had accumulated from the bullshitting i would go and give Ronny a 10 year contract just to * you lot off!
