Please take anything Roy Keane's book says as a pinch of salt . The excuse he will use this year will be that the book was actually written by a writer of Fiction books. There doesn't seem to be any attempts to ensure the book is truthful . The book describes in great detail about Keane head- butting the Great Dane during a club tour of Asia in 1998 . The next morning Keane had a very sore hand but couldn't remember much . One would think he could have checked and found out there was no club tour in 1998 to Asia. Imagine been so fond of himself to have two Auto Biologies written by the time you are 43 . Maybe he will give Fergie some credit for the next book " Additional Time " and then he can have his fourth and further books by doing the replay. I don't know whether we can believe Lawwell all the time or not , but I would believe him before Keane any day and every day .

We needed someone like Roy Keane or Henke to get the job, Roy wouldn't have kept quiet about the * support from the board and Henrik is way too big with us that the board couldn't have risked * him off.

I'm not annoyed at either for turning it down but I wish one of the two could have seen they had the chance to turn this club around from top to bottom.

I wouldn't want Larsson as manager any more than I wanted him as our Goalkeeper during his playing days. Maybe he could add something to the coaching staff one day, but his record as a manager isn't good enough.

Also, Roy Keane is probably talking *.

Neither Roy Keane nor Larsson would have turned this club around from top to bottom . Larsson would have too much love for the Celtic club and not enough confidence in his own ability as a manager to rock the Celtic boat .
Keane wouldn't have the patience to work with both the players and the board and he would storm off in a fit of bad temper after only a few months leaving things worse after he left than when he joined .

I have been saying for months that Roy Keane was defenetly offered the job and that Ronny Deila was one of the stipulations he was to be number 2

This is old news. We all know Roy Keane was offered the job. Deila was interviewed as a No.2 at Celtic. When Neil walked away and Roy turned it down they turned to their No.2 Mr Deila to manage the club as they were impressed by his interview. At present he is showing WHY he should have been a No.2. As Big John stated today, "He's a laughing stock". Cannot disagree with that. Even crazy Frankie tonight on Clyde got stuck into Deila. Alot of ex Celtic players have all come out with the same wordings. The show will soon be over for Ronny.

Roy Keane is probably one of my favourite players of all time...

But as a manager no thanks...it kind of sums him up that he would rather be assistant at Villa and Ireland...

Celtic job too difficult and probably the wages offered not good enough!

    Glad it didn't happen!:shamrock:

JC - he wanted a decent budget to bring in some players. Was offered a 1/3rd of what he quoted for new players. This is the real reason Neil walked away. No decent budget available.

So am I JC, one of my favourite ever players, fantastic ability, and a giant of a captain. But too temperamental for the Celtic managers job, imagine Keano & Di' Cannio, as assistant manager :47: The first time we played Sevco would start a feckin war :56:

Oh aye I'm not saying it's not. But a lot of managers wouldn't be very happy about it, considering you can get a job down south on a 8 year contract.

    I know!

All I said is IMO that some managers wouldn't be happy with that.
