I couldn't honestly say in regards to that mate. You would need to find out the exact number of seasons tickets sold, and then go through the home attendances. Even then it's all a bit guesswork, as you wouldn't know how many were tickets only for that game. I have a season book, but can't make very single home game, but I wouldn't have anyone question my passion for Celtic.

The point I was getting at though, was that there will be a lot of fans who cannot make games, perhaps due to financial reasons, that are exteremly passionate about the club.

That's the position I'm in just now, hopefully this year I'll be able to get it though. Gutted I missed Lennon's last season :54:

I never made a single game last season, apart from one away game at Easter Road.

Still looked forward to watching every game though, even if it meant going without sleep.

There are still plenty of us left who are still passionate about the club, regardless of those who couldn't give a flying * now because they have no huns to look at........

People slaughtered others for not giving Griffiths a chance.... surely those same people will slaughter those who're not giving Keane a chance.

Those are the kind of fans we would all rather see at Celtic Park I reckon.

There will be thousands in the same boat as yourself mate unfortunately. I still wouldn't question your passion for the club though. Hope you can make it to games next season mate, Parkhead would be a better place on matchdays if all our passionate fans could afford to go.

I'm not questioning individuals passion for the club, I'm simply saying that the passion that is evident on Champions League nights isn't usually there for domestic games.

You can easily tell by comparing the official attendances released by the club (around 45k) to police figures of how many actually attended (varies but often as low as 30k or less). This means that around 15k people per game last year couldn't be bothered to go to games they'd already paid for. They are, of course, entitled not to do so.

I would imagine that is the same for the majority of teams in Europe. It's only natural that bigger games will generate a better atmosphere. Go back to the MON days, when the stadium was full for Champions League and domestic games. Would you say there was more passion on show in doemstic games or Champions League games?

How do you know that all of them couldn't be bothered though? I couldn't make every home game last year, I wouldn't say it was because I couldn't be bothered though. How many others were in the same position? You or I don't know, that's for sure. As I said though, I wouldn't have my passion for Celtic called into question. I'm not saying everyone had a good excuse, sometimes people maybe couldn't be bothered, but you are only presuming this.

A was going to mention that in my previous post. We take a bigger attendance to our home league games than most teams in the supposedly best league in the world the EPL and have a better atmosphere than the majority of teams in that league as well. Even if it is poor in comparison to our CL nights.

So if Celtic are lacking passion as a club then so is 97% of teams in Britain. Which I dont agree with.

Our club has done a * of a job in the last year or so trying to remove the more passionate fans from the club as well, that cannot be overlooked.

To answer the OP, he was just giving his opinion on the game, that's the way he saw it. Doesn't mean he 'hates' Celtic or any other * and it has no bearing on him being offered the job or him taking it.

I'm not presuming this, mate. Of course some people will passionately want to go and be unable to make it on a given day, but the vast majority can and that's not speculation on my part. I know this because you didn't get 15k people not turning up to games they'd already paid for under MON and WGS and because even now you don't get 15k people not turning up to watch CL games they've already paid for. The only conclusion I can draw is that they feel they have better things to do with their time/travel money. Again, I'm not criticising them for this, just pointing it out.

Spot on. Some fans might be afraid to show too much passion, just incase they are seen to be enjoying themselves too much, which then means they are at risk of being ejected from the stadium. I seen a guy getting thrown out last season for standing up and dancing, and that is no word of a lie.

I've saw stewards surround a guy and give him into trouble for standing up and trying to start Walk On.

    It's * ridiculous.

I don't know, mate. It's my baby and so I find it hard to criticise it. At any rate, if Keane is the new manager, aren't you looking forward to holding Jorge to the threat he made in this thread? :icon_mrgreen:

That's every day now, Jorge. Don't forget. :50:

It's an absolute joke mate. What do you expect though, when you have Peter Lawwell talking about giving certain fans "enough rope to hang themselves". It's no wonder the passion isn't on display in the terraces these days. That doens't mean there isn't a passion for the club amongst the supporters though.
