Why is why I was devastated when they went down.

I didn’t want him anywhere near Parkhead in the first place.

This is a good post but that doesn't mean it's right for him to be taking snipes in the press.

He's got a nerve taking anything from Celtic, he should have walked away with no compensation, knowing full well that that is exactly what he deserved, he was never good enough for Celtic as a manager and a lot of responsibility needs to go on the board for hiring a manager who had just been relegated though fear of trying a more suitable foreign candidate.

If what he's apparently said over the last couple of days has actually come out of his bitter mouth then he can go * himself, and never come back to Celtic Park, he's not welcome. It is bad enough that he took our team to a low that hadn't been seen since Inverness put us out the Cup, but he should not be bad mouthing a club that he apparently loves. I'm really disappointed at what I've read this morning.

None of those options, as a player I liked him, as a manager I didn't, it didn't work out and he shouldn't have mentioned the money as that just makes him appear bitter but I have no ill feelings towards him. I wish him well for the future, just not with Celtic.

I hate criticising other Celtic fans, just as I hate criticising our players and managers whether current or past. The vitriol shown to a man who basically failed to do a job is horrendous. This man has a family for goodness sake. To call him a "*, Fuckface, *, *" etc etc is way over the top.

As I see it, his comments were not directed at Celtic fans but our board. Now if you want to have a go anyone for disliking the Celtic Board, then start here.

yesterday i would have said good player, * manager, but todays story has left a sour taste in my mouth, he cost the club millions in having to fix his fuckups and has the cheek to grumble about 350000, idiot

Did Tony manage Celtic for a "hobby"? Did he do it for nothing? Was it his job? Did the Celtic board give him the contract?

Why in that case should he walk away without money he is due? Celtic could have sacked him....however that would have been "unfair dismissal" because he was not given time to succeed. DOes anyone think they would pay him off if they thought he was not entitled?

If I was doing as poorly as him at my job I would expect to be out the door, certainly not holding £350k as I was getting the heave ho.

Also the fact that Celtic have denied this and that such matters can be found in our public records due to us being a PLC I pretty much doubt it's went down the way Mowbray has said.

is anyone is daft enough to think Celtic would part with £350k for no good reason? The Board wrote the contract and he deserved what he got. The man was trying to make a living. Plenty out there slagging him off calling him all sorts will do a * poor job sometimes in their own job. Nobody should get 350k for failing, however no one should get 30k a week for playing football for Celtic either.

That he failed as a Manager, goes without saying....however he was a decent player and the hudle is his legacy....so although I would never ever ever want him back in the dug-out, I can forgive him.....as for the paper comments, there are commercial agreements and contractual agreement that we will never find the real details off, but I doubt if there is anyone on this forum that would not be keen to follow up on £350k

Over rated as a defender, a total loser as a manager. Could destroy a teams morale just by entering the room. He didn't invent "The Huddle" other teams in other sports did long before Celtic. He saw it, copied it and it stuck. Never really liked it myself, always thought it was too American.

After this wee outburst from ol' "Take it on the chin" my opinion of him couldn't get any lower.

Tony Mowbray is a good man who holds a special place in his heart for our club. If people didn't like what he did in his time as a manager here or wouldn't ever want him to manage the club again then that is totally fine and understandable. Calling him a * is not. Tony Mowbray gave a lot to this club as a player during one of the blackest periods in the club's history. He also invented the Huddle, something which is still a big part of Celtic's pre-match preparation today.

Some people really have no concept of human behaviour, body language and how people are just inherently different. I've read so many people on here basically saying that because he didn't jump and down like a maniac on the touchline when he was our manager that he didn't give a * about the club or the job. Anyone that truly believes that Tony Mowbray did not give a * or does not love this club is just * deluded and has no understanding of the man whatsoever.

Not everybody in the world reacts the same way to things. Tony Mowbray has never, ever been a guy that jumps and down on the sidelines like a madman but it did not stop him doing a good job at Hibernian or West Brom. Different people behave differently in certain situations and Tony Mowbray is a guy who obviously likes to keep his calm on the touchline. If that's how he thinks he works best then that's his decision and it's fine by me.

It's clear for everyone to see that things did not work out for Tony Mowbray in his time as Celtic manager. Nobody could deny that. The man came here and tried his best and it didn't work out the way we all hoped it would. That's life. That's football. These things happen sometimes.

Tony Mowbray will always have my highest regard and I wish him all the best down at Middlesbrough. I would dearly love to see him turn that club around and shut a few of his detractors up.

I'd imagine he'd be a nice guy to talk to, ect. But as a manager? He's absolute pish - but as Prof mentioned, it was down to the board also and not just Mowbray. At the time I was infuriated with Peter Lawwell for letting this charade go on. I imagine it's a lot harder to let managers go, probably trying to come to terms and settling with him financially - things like that. I'm glad to see the back of him and a bit of freshness in the team under Lennon, but I'd never once wish any ill or feel absolute hatred for the guy, he just simply never succeeded at Celtic.

Tony is a good manager....sometimes in life, things just dont work out. No need to abuse everyone who fails though. I take it your infallible?
