    Always been quite partial to the 'Southern Cross' - the defiance of colonial taxation & Imperialist measures, then later adopted by the trade unions... there is a definate link with Peter Lalor & the Eureka Stockade rebellion, not to mention the 1st true icon of a seperate Australian identity, independant from Britain.

    the sentiment behind the Union Jack is kinda cool (the crosses of each member state of the UK) but it has taken on such an imperialist connotation that its kinda ruined for a many people
