    Quite liked the first three or four Metallica records before they went pop. Can't really listen to any of their newer material sadly. A little Voi Vod a nice little antidote for de-cluttering pop drivel

    Looks like Dave Lombardo has been kicked out of Slayer
    "I want to personally apologize to all of our fans in Australia who have bought tickets for the tour expecting to see me in my usual place on the drums."

    Imagine being in a band for 30 years and getting an email saying you're no longer needed, disgusting way to treat him.

    I'm gutted, one of my favourite ever drummers, one of the best metal drummers ever, that's extremely *.

    Also, who in the name of * could replace Dave, he is a drumming *, and wrote more than half the songs.

    He's been replaced on this tour by Jon Ditte.

    It's the way they done it that disgusts me. Through an email from lawyers. Shocking way to treat a bandmate of 30 years. Dave is far more skilled on drums than Kerry is on guitar.

    Bad move on the other hand their loss, you could not meet a nicer bloke than Dave Lombardo, he's the best Metal drummer ever. Seems that hes always been a second class citizen in that group. Id have nothing more to do with them.

    That's a terrible way to treat a drummer who has helped contribute greatly to the bands success, what's worse is that they didn't even listen to his suggestions or concerns then didn't have the guts to give him the news face to face.

    I'm not a fan of slayer but this doesn't give out a great message to the fans.

    Great song from Metallica that, just bought the master of puppets album again yesterday. :50:

    Anyway here's another one that some of you may like, It's from the band Ensiferum. Jari Mäenpää from Wintersun used to be the vocalist and guitarist in this band before Wintersun.

    Puppets was their best by far, not a weak track on it.
    The Mustaine lineup could have been something else, shame that they and he didn't know how to deal with him and all his demons and issues at the time. Talented guy.

    What's your opinion on the other Metallica albums? Personally I loved them all except lulu because I don't like Lou Reeds music at all.

    As for Mustaine I'm kind of glad that he was let go purely because it gave music another awesome band that became my favourite, but it would have been interesting to see how different Metallica would have been if he'd still been with them.

    He had a massive chip on his shoulder for decades but its vastly reduced now he's got himself sorted. He knows he messed up by getting booted out of the band but they didn't give him much of a chance like when Hetfield went into rehab for example. But hes since admitted himself he deserved to get kicked out. If Mustaine and Cliff were still there they would be awesome and not like they are now. Its just my opinion but Ulrich turned them into a joke.

    Nearly all their material for me after the Justice album i can't listen to or wont. Because their early stuff was just so good, although S&M the live album had its moments. Lulu was horrific what were they thinking? DM was at least for them a return to what they are or were, a Metal band.
