LOI or EPL

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Gordybhoy1967, Mar 6, 2011.

  1. clearly we are not getting justice in scotland.

if we had to leave the SPL what would be your prefered destination?

I have always been against joining the EPL but in light of the current situation I think its time to leave the huns wallowing in their own filth.

I wish we could stay here but if the worst happened I'd go for LOI

    * the huns

EDIT-can I have a poll. LOI or EPL

  2. What is LOI? if you mean league of ireland, * that its worse than our league, that wouldn't be progress at all, we'd not be able to attract any good players

  3. league of ireland

  4. League of Ireland :50:

  5. right well * that, worse than our league just now.

  6. :56:

  7. worse than our league?

when was the last time a league of ireland managers life was threatened?

  8. Why not the Isle of * Man league while we're at it:bbpd:

None at all. Celtic wont leave Scotland, for the following reasons.

The tide will turn on the Huns.

Everyone will realise that what is happening is an unmitigated slur on our manager and club.

Next season the huns grip on the media etc will loosen as they will have no players and no cash to buy any. The Tax man is coming also.

We will be seen to be the premier team in Scotland

    Cheers

  10. well, its not ha ha, its a very sad day when people start thinking of ideas like this.

what would we don if lenny was forced to quit? continue as normal?, no * danger.

we are a scottish team with Irish roots, if we cant play football here then Ireland is the natural alternative

  11. I really hope your right

LOI is a waste of time. The EPL dont want us. We have no choice put to stay in Scotland.
We need to be more vocal and fight our own corner. This has already started to happen this season leading to an improvement in the bias of referees.
This I think is the huns main problem. The board and the management have spoken up and there is no more croppie lying down.
I dont think the media will ever change regardless of what happens to rangers. They prefer to be anti Celtic than pro rangers.

  13. the quality is terrible here mate

  14. what does that have to do with the quality of the league, all i was saying is it's a worse league in terms of footballing standards than ours just now, and the SPL ain't that good a league lol

  15. I can't see us leaving the SPL, ever! To answer the question i'd go for the EPL

And the Stadium ,do we carry that over aswell ?

  16. A few points:

Without sounding rude, why do you assume EPL would accept you or Gers?

Would you be happy being a mid table EPL team, because again without being rude, Celtic or Gers couldn't compete with the 'big 4 or 5' * and you'd be lucky to qualify for uefa.

Lastly it wouldn't be fair on other EPL teams if you were just accepted in without a challenge, so the fairest scenario would be entry into either N Power Championship or even L1 and you can get promoted up the leagues, at the same time you'd get to visit weird and wonderful places like Yeovil and Brighton. :icon_mrgreen:

I personally think this is just the flavour of the month and things wil return to normal once the media turn their cameras on some other story.

Hmmm hard one ...... Think the EPL (Best league in the world) would just edge out the LOI and its untold riches.

  18. well, i did say worst case scenario.

kennydal, I would never want us to leave the SPL, but if Lenny is forced to quit i cant see any other alternative than to ditch the SPL.

the topic of going to the EPL has arisen many times on here and a lot of people see it as a good idea. I dont, it would be a last resort.

I hope Lenny stays and we dont have to take such drastic action.

nobody mentions the logistics if we want to goto the EPL.

    its a hypothetical scenario
