The Big Bang was Lucifer falling from heaven, and that the entire Universe, including humanity, are the broken parts of Lucifer, and that evolution is the process of Lucifer putting himself together back into an angel.

Not something I believe, but very persuasive and lyrical theory

Yes I do believe in *.

I believe that a lot of the social and moral decay that is present in today's society is down to the fact that less and less people believe in * nowadays. That's a whole other thread though.

Einstein might have been smart but that's one of the worst quotes I've ever read.

No real plot line, just full of self pleasuring and lies. 3/10 on Imdb.

Understand where you are coming from but I would also contend that your moral compass should be set first and foremost by your parents.

when the scriptures were written people needed to believe in a higher power and a chance of a better life after death-cos,lets face it,life was pretty * grim back then, you had low life expectancy, high infant mortality, disease and famine were commonplace, reports of people eating their children, dogs, rats etc you had to believe in something or you would have topped yourself-nowadays even poor people have got central heating and sky tv,quality of life has improved to the extent gods no longer relevant to a significant part of modern society, and IMO,this trend will continue until religions are eventually phased out

Tony Blair is a Catholic, George Bush is a Christian. Two examples that would suggest otherwise.

The Borgias in the middle ages were Gods representatives on Earth. Probably were the best examples of good that He could have given us.

Whilst I dont believe in * I can see positives in organised religion. There is no doubt, as many have said in this thread, that religion provides comfort, guidance and a much needed structure to peoples lives.

However far we have evolved we still have tribal tendancies and thus will take pleasure in sharing experiences with others.

We also know only to well the pain and destruction that can be blamed on religion, it is too simplistic to blame the breakdown of the social fabric on religion (I would prefer to blame Baroness Thatcher but that is a whole other thread)
