    Conor ya cheeky brush! :icon_mrgreen:

Refreshing though - going quiet's not something I'm often accused of. :56:

I've never hated Broony, just hated the fact that he seemed cemented into the team despite playing poorly, when players who were more in-form - and just plain better - were ignored. I'm always willing to change my opinion, but not as quick as most folk on here - as we all know, couple of good games and you're brilliant, couple of bad games and you're a dud. Right now, what we're seeing is the "couple of good games against the Rangers and you're a Celtic Legend" - even if, like Broony, you've done sweet FA in nearly every previous Old Firm match, apart from get yourself sent off.

There's no doubt in my mind that Broon being moved wide right has improved the team - but that opinion's no surprise really, cos I was suggesting it on here long before Lenny took the reins. SB is simply not smart enough or composed enough to play centre mid, certainly not in the deep-lying position we saw him used in. And crucially, his headless-chicken style plain got in the way of the folk who instinctively feel the shape of the game, folk like Ki, Crosas, Ledley. A lot of the time he was disrupting our own play as much as he was the opposition's.

Psychologically though, there does seem to be a change. This could be due to several things:
    1) Lenny's influence
    2) Being freed from the shackles/responsibility of a deep-lying central role
    3) The fact that he is just like Georgios Samaras.

Yep, that's right, like Sammy he is a confidence player. For him, lack of confidence is expressed in a quite different way to Sammy - cue zoomin about like a wee kid who's eaten the wrong M&M's, making pie-brained challenges, and generally losing the plot.

The team's playing extremely well just now, and Brown is playing far better than he was. Thing is, I think the former is causing the latter, not the other way round. When we hit a rough patch - as all teams do - we'll see how much has really changed in his psychology.

As for contract renewal, hardly ever against it, me - not when the player in question has attracted the attention of clubs with much more money than we have. Renew it right now as far as I'm concerned. Then if someone offers us 7 million in the summer - punt.

First post in this thread which actually makes sense. Best post ive read in a long time.

The average football Fan is fickle at the best of times but since Scott Browns one performance against rangers and a couple of others this season peoples opinions have drastically changed. He is being made out to be a good player , a player with real footballing ability , a key figure in the team or even a cult hero. :56::56::56:
Okay then. I cant even be bothered arguing against the mass of sheep who jump on the bandwagon. The guy has been * for 3 years. Anyone else would have been punted a long time ago. 4.4million okay , im worth at least 5 then. useless , offers nothing apart from a bit of drive and "gets stuck in" in Scotland this type of player is idolised , hence why we have a * league , a * national team , players which lack technical ability

Quite funny to see so many people liking Brown again after recent performances it wasn't so long ago he was slated on here. I would like to see him stay, I've always been one of his fans.

    Complete pig-in-a-poke for me.

Limited footballer that wouldn't get near the 1st team of any side in more technical countries like France, Spain or Holland.

Not worth a new contract, no passion for the hoops he wears and never a captain.

    Sell

not just no kayal. no grass on the pitch, mulgrew had a howler, hoopers first touch let him down all day, they got away with murder and the tactics were all wrong. not on broony. he, like every other player on the park had a stinker today.

    He is over rated.

Never a Celtic captain in a million years.

Good at driving forward into space....when he gets the ball his control is *.

Shots are goal are, in general, diabolical.

Temperament (for a captain of Celtic).....dubious.

    A hothead.

I would not offer him an extension on his contract and cash in on him now. Though I feel fans may be disappointed with the low, derogatory offers we may get for him, if any.

    Apart from the above...he's magic.:56:

lol the whole team was rotten but Broony gets picked out as usual. Usual suspects too. Its like some people were just waiting for Broony to have a not great game. It was the CM of Ki and Ledley and the defence who had real howleres, as did Stokes today. Noone was good.

Putting him on the right was meant to free him up to be the attacking box-to-box player he was at Hibs and to be fair, he's been better recently, but I'm not a big fan myself.

Can understand why people rate him at the moment, but if baffled me when many people alwso rated him in CM where he was very poor.

Who picked him out? This is YOUR thread.

Ki, Mulgrew and Forster have threads too, so there goes your theory there.

He was * and fully deserves the abuse today.

He was * poor today but then so were a number of Celtic players.

He is never a centre mid in a million years, he should remain at right mid where he was doing the damage and actually contributing in an attacking sense.

Brown was poor today, no getting away from that. He was back to being unable to pass the ball 10 yards.

However, I thought Hooper had his worst game for us, Stokes was *, Ki was *, they were all *.
