lol i saw that in the record as well. can't help but laugh. very slim chance it will be true imo.

if it is true, he'll go. maybe it won't be in his best interest as he won't get as much game time but he will be playing for a massive club in the CL and on a very decent wage.

my opinion on the matter has not changed. no real source, no transfer for him yet. on that logic we still have a chance but i wouldn't want to spend anything over £5m.

the numbers that are getting chucked about are mad he has one year left on his contract and he is never worth £5m or even 8m euros

hope we don't pay anything over 3m for him

Hard to believe that Bayern are interested. Really don't think so.

didnt the tabloids regularly like Mcgeady with Bayern also.

dont see Long coming to us unfortunately should be plenty of premiership interest in him, Danny Graham from Watford scored a similar amount of goals as him and he's attracting bids of 3.5m from OPR and Swansea so i can see Long going for at least that much.

    Just can't get enough!

Danny Graham isn't as good as Long to be fair. Long is constantly improving, so I see a mid table club in the EPL signing him, not us.

I dare say it could be maybe Fulham or Aston Villa. But don't be surprised if he stays put for another season.

There's far to much interest in Long for us to be able to put in a challenge for his signature. Am 95% certain he won't be signing for us.

Bayern Munich my baws. They are just trying to up his value.

If we can't afford him I'd happily use any of (Samaras, Stokes, Murphy, Juarez,) + cash.

Bottom line is why the * would a player on the rise attracting attention from big league clubs want to come to the SPL. I think (other than the days when we could offer incredible wages in MON's time) we are never going to attract or compete for players who do or who could play in the EPL. We have to get them before they are on the radar. I think Long seems just to obvious a target for smaller EPL sides etc. I just cant see us competing for fees or wages. Great if I am wrong but I would like to know one way or another ASAP because its getting boring and its pretty unlikely too.

Doubt very much that Bayern are in for Long but having said that, the Germans have a history of going for the unexpected...

Alan 'when I played at Bayern' McInally
    Paul Lambert
    er... some others...? :39:

Seriously though, I wouldn't expect Long to go for silly money.

After all the top Championship scorer went for £3.5m.

Long does appear to be a better player who, granted is a full international, but is in the final year of his contract...

Lots of things to weigh up!

Just because he's valued at £6m-7m doesn't mean that's what he goes for...

If he's the man for us and both parties want the move it will happen.

    Simples!

    In Lennon we trust!

    Hail Hail

Dont think there is much diffrence between Long and Ledley.

Ledley turned down offers to come to us, so dont see why Long would not do the same.

The guy only has a year left on his contract, he can decide where he wants to go. all this talk of 5m is complete nonsense.

Well even if he was under par today he is certainly not worth anything above 3 mil when he is in the last year of his contract. Looks like he just wants to go on holiday by tonights performance to be honest lol.

He had no service tonight against a good Italy team. If anything it might make his price tag go down a wee bit.
