    when did i imply that i wanted us to bid £5 million for him, i said put a bid in before them..personally i think we should go £4million tops at a push for him anything higher and we could do better. ps i dont buy into all that 'cos hes irish' if hes good and irish why not if hes not good enough for celtic and irish i woodnt want him here.

    listen no doubt long is a good player but this spiralling transfer fee is a joke no more than 4mill for the guy imho.
    i would rather we go and get robbie i think we could get him for around the 3mill mark being as hes in the last year of his current contract would be a good foil for both hoops or stokes depending on who lenny wants to play any given game. iknow theres no resale value but hes still a * good player and would help win trophies and you cant put a price on silverware as we all know after the steven fletcher debacle!!

    Theres not that big difference at all actually, which is why you'll find the majority of teams who come up from league 1 do well in the championship, Norwich got promoted and Leeds & Millwall just missed out on the play-offs.. Also Southampton are one of the favourites for the division next year and Brighton will also do well.

    Trappatoni said Long looked tired from the playoff game Monday and * happened to have 2 really good games recently for Ireland. It's not all that strange once you look at it from that perspective. Long will definitely come on in the 2nd half at some point.

    Yea in a way its because he is irish, if he was'nt irish or scottish, Celtic probably would have no chance competing with premier league clubs for his signature. I for one would have no problem splashing out 5 million on him, lighting pace, strong as an ox, good in the air and a decent finisher. In my opinion a proper player.
