    Interesting and completely valid point. Atheists can dismiss * as a fairytale, a nothing and religion as a complete nonsense and that is accepted as their right. Fair enough, as long as they are not advocating violence, hatred, or discrimination against people of faith then that is indeed their right.

    RITG, does not attack Protestants. It is however an attack on Bigots.

    I have read this thread with interested and tried to take in all points of view.

    I think people need to try and take the song how it's meant. It's not a dig at protestants. It really is supposed to be a lighthearted dig at orange men etc and their parades and the people they hold dear. Remember who these people are by the way (KB and KNOX). Orange man parade the streets Celebrating their beliefs and hatred into the bargain. So what's going to annoy them more than us Celebrating OUR religion? The very religion they hate. Of course I'm only speaking for Catholic Celtic supporters when i say that, but no one is forced to sing it. It is NOT supposed to alienate non Catholic Celtic supporters and i don't actually believe it does. There is nothing in it to suggest that it should. Unless they're Orange Men or Huns which is highly unlikely.

    We shouldn't be trying to silence the people who DO sing the song though.

    It doesn't advocate violence against Protestants. It's a lighthearted dig at Orange parades and Orange man through a fictional story. That's in really.

    If people don't like the song, that's fair enough, some people don't like Rebels and they still get sung. (Some people actually claim they are Sectarian too) which is of course is a nonsense.

    They day we start singing about wading in Protestant blood etc I'll worry but thankfully that day hasn't and, i'n my opinion, will never come.

    Excellent post mate. :50::50::50:

    You've looked at both sides of the argument, seen through the bullshit and realised what is actually going on. Bravo.
