I will be going wild anyway, wee half of buckfast with the breakfast, couple of cans on the way then another half before I go in go off my nut for a couple of hours then dance back into the town centre after a great victory :icon_mrgreen: I dont think we as fans have looked forward to a home game against them this much since the two must win games in 2008? it will be rocking(I hope)

Does singing songs and making noise really make players play??

Im on 6 quid an hour. I pay my season ticket, to watch these guys at there work. They are paid to do a job, and paid very well. After all the hard earned cash that we pay, THEY should be giving us reason to sing, not us singing to make them play

The past couple of weeks Lenny has been speaking about the connection between the supporters and the players so it MUST make a difference when the players are given 100% backing by the fans. Why do teams almost always have better home records than away records? Surely it cant be the travelling? The home teams go away to a hotel the night before too so it must be because the home support drives the players on.

The best example of this was our home record in Europe at one point, Barcelona, Man Utd, Juventus, AC Milan, Lyon the cream of Europe all coming to Paradise and leaving with a defeat, superior teams in terms of players surely we couldn't get lucky that many times? The bosses and players of these teams all said that the biggest factor in the match outcome was the Celtic support.

So if you want us to have the best chance of wining this old firm game, get up off your * and sing your heart out!!! :celt_2::celt_2::celt_2:

The singing doesn't have to be done as a reactionary thing but it obviously helps when the game aint going our way and the players need lifting...
I watched the Dundee Utd game at the weekend and for me that was the loudest and best atmosphere from all the games I've seen this season and the feel good factor has clearly been gathering pace week after week with the current momentum , and you can detect it from the fans.. When you hear them in full voice from before kick-off to the very end of the game it comes across as though the fans sing just as much to enjoy themselves as it is to support the team.. Expressing themselves that it's more like an occasion rather than the chore it's been at times over the last few seasons..

If people want to sit with their arms folded , waiting for the team to give them something to applaud then that's fine also but it seems to me they are the ones missing out by not joining in..
Anyway , the point I was going to make is about the atmosphere and I reckon by 25 past 2 on Sunday afternoon when Lenny is on the pitch , fist pumping in front of the support the atmosphere will be a thing to behold.. :icon_mrgreen:

Yes it does, 50 odd thousand people getting behind you makes you go to lengths you never thought possible.

Our atmosphere is the reason that we have done so well in Europe; it puts players under pressure and it eggs our players on.

Managers and players have stated before there is so much noise around the stadium that they can't hear there own thoughts; that is a fantastic advantage to ourselves.

It makes a massive difference. Doesn't matter how much they are paid; supporters should get behind the team and support them.

I used to be on 4.90 and still belted it out for the bhoys

It definitely makes a difference. It's encouragement. If you see interviews with players past and present, and they talk about the atmosphere they say it spurs them on and they love it. It rattles the opposition - just ask the European teams that came to Celtic Park.
It's also a way of enjoying the game as oppose to just sitting quiet. The players make a connection with the fans and love playing for a club where the fans are brilliant.

12.30 on Sunday - get * intae them!! :shamrock:

    replay is a 7.45 kick-off..

Early kick-offs shouldn't matter with regards to atmosphere.. If the Celtic fans can get to Dundee and provide the amosphere they did at the weekend for a 12.30 Kick-off then Sunday should be something special..

Lets make Celtic Park, a Green Brigade Celtic Park on Sunday, don't allow these feckers to be heard once, lets back our team to the hilt, win, lose, or draw, but I know we are gonnae hump them on Sunday. This game is shown throughout the world, so lets show the world and all its watchers, how big our Club is, because always remember the stars of the future could be watching, Lets show the world " that we are, the Celtic supporters.:celt_2:

Yeah I agree , but its difficult when the police that separate the two sets of fans tell every Celtic fan to sit down and let the huns jump around

Surely a tongue in cheek post. If not, we might as well give up our philosophy since 1888 right now. Cant believe this comment.
