I thought Mark Wilson was very fortunate not to be sent off today. Had it happened, I would have been very * off, not because I though the tackle leading up to the UTD goal didn't merit a booking, but because of the first booking. I know that it is a rule, and we couldn't have blamed the ref, but I think it's * stupid. He's celebrating with his own fans FFS! It's not like their going to attack him or he's going to attack them, there's hardly going to be a riot, it's not going to incite them do behave badly or anything. It's * stupid and annoying, something needs to be done to get rid of this pointless rule.

It's a rule enforced by the police.
Nothing the SPL or the clubs can do about it
it's to stop people getting crushed

I thought the ref did well, knew he had to book him, even though it was the slightest of infringements of that stupid ruling. Later on at the challenge he should have been booked for I felt he gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Just seems to get enforced on us all the time and not to the other side. Whittaker last week being one.

no matter how daft a first booking, players jumping into the crowds after a booking deserve to be sent off for their stupidity. Regardless of the rule being right or wrong

If the ref hadn't booked him for that he might have got sent off for that tackle imo.Doubt the refs particularly enjoy enforcing such a petty rule.

It was a half hearted crowd jump, if he is gonna get a yellow he might as well have jumped in and crowd surfed for a couple of minutes.

He could have gone but I'm glad the ref let it go

The only other time I've seen it go unpunished was Darren Jacksons first goal at Pittodrie after he came back from his operation. The ref actually used common sense that time as he wanted to celebrate with the fans after the support he got.

I think your right, he's a professional and should know its a yellow. I can see why they get caught up in the moment though.

although I agree it's a daft rule players need to stop doing it, Wilson could have walked for his challenge and left us in a difficult situation.

He didn't jump the hoarding, Scott Brown trying to celebrate with him force him over it, he high-fived about 1 person in the crowd then came back onto the pitch, never a booking. :38:

understand why the police wouldnt want players to do this! but i think it takes the enjoyment out of scoring a goal and to celebrate it with your own fans.

yeah I would get caught up in it. Would take a booking for it if it was a big goal, but not a second one.

here is a thought, is the rule in place for prevention purposes? If so, what link should a police rule and rules of the football game/referee rules have to do with that? It's a bit of a mixture isn't it. Surely it is of no consequence to football. Is it not the police's responsibility? Or does the home team or away team get fined if too many people pitch it??

That's with Celtic, the huns seem to be able to do it with impunity, there was a period about 3 years ago when their players was celebrating with the crowd almost every week, yet only once was a player actually booked for it.

Yeah that is the problem. It is either a booking every time or you scrap it. You can't pick and choose who gets away with it
