Aye but what if we sign Wilson, stick him in the team, he doesn't gel, and we lose the league? These hypotheticals cut both ways.

No way should we be paying a million quid to buy out just 4 months on a Championship player's contract. Apart from the waste of money, we're just sending out the message we can be held to ransom in the transfer market. Start doing that & soon everyone you want to deal with is trying to screw you.

if we want a great team, forget about signing the * from the teams below us in the SPL. Sign a few decent players

It is possible that could happen, but we have left it very late and sometimes that's what happens, however if we sign him and lose the league he will have the 4 months extra to gel with the team for next season and therefore be ready for the challenge and hopefully be settled in the team, so a positive could still come out from his transfer, and would you not rather a centre back comes in as back-up and plays at a time like this when our 2 CBs are injured and we are playing 2 FBs in their position?

We have no option at being held at ransom if we want Wilson, we have left it too late to try and sign any CB and Nottingham can afford to do that because they know they have lost him for free and he is only back-up to the first team, so that is our own fault and does not mean that every club will start to screw with us! But hopefully show us that we need to try and buy players a little earlier in the transfer window!

 

So where does murphy sit then ? yes on the bench

Lennon signed Murphy so he obviously saw use for him.....and Murphy was never a goal scoring forward anyway...hes a big slow lad you knock long balls to and score off the breaks


Even if you take Murphy aside, Samaras would get a game before Sammon
