Are you kidding on?

There is no other player in world football more hot and cold than Samaras, to such extremes too.

Literally a World Class player on day, Sunday League the next.

 

Totally different player when he has someone else up front alongside him. Just as I, and a few others, said not long ago.

He was always going to struggle playing up front on his own when we sold Hooper and never brought in a replacement. Some of the criticism he got was a bit unfair, it was obvious Pukki and him up front wasn't going to work. Both of them are second strikers and similar players.

I think he made Hooper look good a lot of the time he was here and made it easy for him to score goals. He brings so much to the table other than goals, link up play is superb and he has a good number of assists.

It was a great assist to set up Griffiths today, im looking forward to see more of them up front together. They'll score a lot of goals between them, which will take some of the pressure off of Commons shoulders.

 

An even better pass when you consider he dug it out from under his feet when he spotted the run. He had to make the pass when he did even though it was caught under his feet and still put it on Griffiths toes.

He has a habit of those kinds of passes.

Anthony is a sublime player. This partnership with Leigh Griffiths has the potential to be as good as the one with Gary Hooper, potentially even better.

His best game for a very long time, great work rate , control and above all great unselfish link up play especially with Griffiths. Really exciting to watch.

 

I really rate Anthony as a player and since Leigh Griffiths has come in he's been able to play his natural game. I particularly like the way he drags opponents out of position and creates space for his teammates. He had a very good game today and I'm delighted he got on the score sheet because he deserved it.

 

Id have said MOTM today, played about half the game in midfield. He was good and Matthews, Izaguirre, Griffiths and Brown played well I thought. Commons was poor again, should have subbed Commons for Pukki at HT imo, I want to see Pukki, Stokes and Griffiths playing together as Pukki and Griffiths are quite quick.

Forgot about Johansen, would say he was 2nd best.

 

It would be very hard for any manager to sub a 26 goal player like Commons, he is always capable of doing something for you. Think I would prefer to see Tony Watt being given another chance ahead of Pukki.

Commons I dont think has been playing well for a while, he was great up until about late November but since even though he's scored for fun he's not been playing well.

I think Stokes could play in Commons position and score goals from there too but Stokes is just sharper on the ball. Commons main problem is he's so slow off the mark, has basically no agility or acceleration and seems to fall over the ball, get caught on it or just loses it atleast 5 times a game as soon as he gets possession.

Beginning to annoy me.

 

For me he's been poor.

Id say actually our worst player in each of the last two games even though hes scored 3 goals

I dont think he should win POTY either tbh, I think Stokes has been better than him this season only Commons has got all the glory by scoring the goals.
