The lads had a great couple of games but lets no get carried away, he admitted himself in the post match interview that he's disappointed with his goals tally for this year, he's been playing below par and he's not been the only one, before the signing of Griffiths I personally thought he should've been dropped, it just wasnt happening for the lad but if the signing of Griffiths has given him that extra incentive to try a bit harder then thats fine by me, hopefully the lad can now go on to produce the kind of form some of us were expecting from him at the start of the season.

Why after weeks and weeks of doldrums did he suddenly turn into Lionel Messi for 90 minutes? What did Neil say to him?

Quite simple, he had somebody to play off of upfront.

    Stokes, Watt and Griffiths

Exciting fast and goals every week. We just need to sign a midfielder in the Petrov mode and A new Lambert and we will look good for next season. We don't need to go spend millions on a new striker when we have that trio.

Lambert is too slow now and I don't think he would leave Villa for us . We either need Griffiths , Pukki and Balde to step up the mark or else we will need a top class striker . It's too early to know what Griffiths will be like .

    Fast? These guys aren't fast!

Also, the days of playing 3 strikers and a Petrov type midfielder were gone by the 80s!

Seriously, this is an Anthony Stokes thread and the guy is living up to his 1 million price tag and scoring goals for fun in Scotland at the moment!

It all depends on where people see us as a club in Europe or just in Scotland. For me, the main priority is 10 in a row. That would make me happy. Anything else like last season getting to the last 16 in the CL is a bonus with the money in this country. Stokes like I've said plenty of times, won't get us there but he will deliver the goods in Scotland!

Watt and Griffiths won't get us there either but we'll beat the Zombies:50:

Stokes is hardly "scoring goals for fun". He'll be back to his old inconsistent self against Hearts. He'll probably make a 5 yard pass 10 minutes before a goal and some of the deluded Stokes lovers on here will count it as his assist.

    Big Sammy, of course.

Just taking stats for the seasons Stokes has been there 2010/11 season onwards

Sammy played 138 games scored 35
Stokes played 139 games scored 58

The other 3 seasons Sammy has been here he played 104 games and scored 36
In the 3 seasons that Sammy was at Celtic and Stokes wasn't, Stokes played 92 and scored 27 so in total for the seasons Sammy was at Celtic (3 more than Stokes)

Sammy played 242 games and scored 71.
Stokes played 231 games and scored 85.

Stokes has been by far a better player than that lazy lump Samaras.

Samaras gets more stick because of his lack of effort in my opinion. Every player will have a bad game from time to time, but their is no excuse for not putting in a hard shift, and Stokes does this almost every game. However, with Samaras, you know after 5mins if it's worthwhile him being on the park or not.

Stokes is far more consistent than Samaras, a harder worker and the stats show that.

I would completely agree with that. He is very creative in his reading of the game and sets up others as well as getting a decent share of goals himself. Bottom line for me is that at the SPFL level he is proven quality and a good player for us to have in our team.

Came on as a sub in 34
    Scored 57
    Assisted 29

Directly involved in 0.65 goals per game

    Sammy:
    Started 150
    Sub 79
    Goals 64
    Assists 27

Directly involved in 0.39 goals per game

What an absolute belter of a pass for Griffiths goal.
