Anthony Stokes

hope hes given more of a chance in the big games. hes scored goals against the huns for hibs and he will do it for us if hes given the chance

 

He can be top quality but for me hes just a bit too hot and cold.

 

I understand that mate but I think the reason a number of Celtic players dropped out of internationals is because of the early SPL start this season. The players need a decent length break in the summer and they're already back in pre-season training so I can understand not wanting to play internationals at the tail end of the season.

 

stokes hooper looks like our strikeforce,unless proven scorer with hieght comes id play them v
the best opposition happily.......stokes is a natural finisher.

 

Lennys given him the hard love treatment maybe miss a few big matches this season but will hold him in stead for the future, lenny himself said hes hard on stokes for a reason to get more out of him, Stokes still has a lot to learn about being team player, making the right decision and discipline lenny just installing mental toughness in him.

Agree with this, Hooper, whoever, Stokes. We need three class strikers and and a big nugget = Sammy. Hopefully competition would do Stokes good as well

 

Stokes seems to have Lennys backing for the small games with less pressure but not when it comes to the Huns. I trust Lennons judgement on this as the small amount I saw him against the huns they seemed to handle him no bother.

I do think he has a future with us though and he has proven he has a bit of quality. What we really need is a no nonsense target man that can put himself about, thats the type of player that the huns defense would hate to play against.

Stokes won us the pen against the huns when he came on.The skill he showed when he came on was awsome! The guy has done more in a season than sammy so he gets my vote!! End of day goals win games END OF!!

 

Stokes is a great goalscorer and he proved that last season and he can only get better next season he played * a couple of games but so did the rest of the team.He deserves credit hes every bit as good as Hooper if not better....

I think Stokes will get more of a chance. A full season experience behind him now and if his attitude gets sorted out he will be even better this season.
Remember he is still pretty young, 22 I think, and has time on his sode to improve.

 

Young player who cost just us around the 1 million mark, wont be on mega wages, scores loads and sets up loads and loves the club. Some peoples criticism of him is way over the top.

And as for the attitude, My gran would be * off if she was played behind Samaras or Murphy.

whats the story with stokes? he got droped towards the end of the season a few times if i remember and lenny says his top targets are a striker and a keeper.... i think stokes done brilliantly last season and hes been lined up to be replaced by bellamy/bothroyd/huseklepp/musona? and it doesnt look like hes going anywhere....

also does anyone know what the "breach of club discipline" back in may?
