Paired with Hooper he's really showing his class. I've always thought he's a player that blows hot and cold a lot of the time, but I'm really hoping the two of them stay injury free. They are both on fire for us. Well done bhoys :celt_2:

I was * myself when he stole hoopemans goal! The both o them started pishing themselfs too which made me laugh even more. :D

stokes is a great player. Another striker would have assumed that was a goal and stopped following his partner... Not stokes though he anticipated he may get a chance and the gamble was correct.

Both players work so well together it's unreal. When both play I never doubt well score.

And it's not just them two... When they both play they both drag players here there and everywhere opening up the channels for the likes of Forrest and izzy to get in on goal...

    FANTASTIC.

Ps... I was not on his case when he was lone strikers... I was more * at the midfield not supporting him as they should... Instead of long balls too him all the time. That was a joke surely.

Yeah. If stokes hadn't finished it was a pen mate. Ref just allowed it.

Hooper wanted the pen and his goal LOL

dare I say it but I still think Samaras is a better option. I just think Stokes will get bossed in Old firm games. He's too weak and slow to ever get the better of Bougherra in a big game. It's concerning. I hope we don't kid ourselves going into the next OF at home.

Samantha has been 'bossed' in every Old Firm game he's ever played in except 1 or 2. Stokes has scored as many goals against the Hun as Samantha has and he's done it playing for poorer teams.

I don't think you fully understand the level of performance by Samaras at Ibrox. It was what can only be described as immaculate. Besides, OF games are the most intense games Celtic will play and require absolute concentration for 90 minutes. I just don't think, no wait, I know Stokes won't be able to meet the standard expected to overcome the huns. His touch is abysmal and he can't hold the ball up. Would he win headers against Boogy and Weir? and would he out run/out muscle them in a game. Nope. I was one of the few people on here prior to Ibrox that demanded Sammy to play over Stokes.

    Immaculate? Hardly.

How exactly do you figure Anthony Stokes doesn't have what it takes to play against the Huns? He scored against the Huns on more than one occasion while playing for Hibs, including at Ibrox. That puts him at least on the same level as Samantha.

Also, you're saying that Stokes couldn't outmuscle Weir and Bougherra or win headers against them.......can Samantha? Not judging by Old Firm games I've watched he can't.

It's not me not understanding the magnitude of Samantha's performance at Ibrox that is the problem, it is you overestimating how good it was.

I have been saying since they both came to Celtic, I give Stokes the edge over Hooper as an all around player.

How the * is his touch 'abysmal.'

He's one of the most skilful players at the club and his control of the ball is up there with anyone in the squad.

I don't get that either, people who come out with such madness are either Irish and dont like him because he doesn't get a game for them thus they dont think hes good or bitter because he turned us down before.

Like you said, Stokes is one of the most skilled and technical players in the squad, the ball can be glued to his boot at times. "first touch absmal" is the likes of Loovens, Naylor, Kenny Miller, McManus, Bobo, cant think of many others we usually have at least decent footballers but at the huns you have Edu, McCulloch, Broadfoot, Weir, Lafferty.

Stokes would have one of the best. :97:

It wasn't immaculate. If McGregor didn't * up and the penalty never went our way (as it usually doesn't) people would have a far different opinion of that game.

After he got his goal his confidence went up.

Hooper and Stokes should not be split up for whatever reason. Both young, hungry fantastically skilled goalscorers.

Stokes good all round , i think he needs to learn not to lose his head or he may be getting some red cards and just hold the line and time his runs a bit better..apart from that ...great

he's just not that good. Aye, * bag against SPL sides but he's not much of a footballer. I remember his performance in OF in October. Summed him up really. Worst player on the park bar Wilson.

well that's *. His first touch was a layoff almost everytime. He won the penalty single handedly. He beat Weir and Bougherra to most of the headers.

This is also complete nonsense, Hooper makes Stokes look good in almost every way. Let's watch Stokes without Hooper. Hamilton away springs to mind...

I can see how you're saying he isn't much of a footballer. Even look at last night when he skint two players in the box.

In the Old Firm match he was played right wing. He is not a right winger. Can't judge players on how they play out of position. Play Kayal upfront I'm pretty sure you would have a different opinion of him.

I remember watching that match and thinking it was one of the best SPL matches I'd seen in a while one of my favourite matches of last season!

Ive always liked Stokes and was and am delighted he is here now. I dont know how much longer people can slate him if he continues this form.

As Ive said before and is shown here he is very skillfull with the ball as well as a deadly goal scorer.

Long live the Stokes and Hooper partnership.

Pair stokes with hooper upfront against rangers and he could easily do the damage.

His 1st touch is fine btw * all wrong with it.

everybody knows he cant play as a lone striker but he is far more consistent and plays better with a partner as for not being able to out run bougherra are you joking the * thinks hes a striker these days so we will never see him partner weir again samaras had a good game but a can count on 1 hand the amount of good games he has had where as a would need to be a * octopus counting the suckers on my tentacles to add up how many bad games he has had
