He deserves his own thread after his last few games, ok he is pretty awful when is asked to play as a lone striker, but when he has someone like Hooper beside him to play off of, he is absolute class.

5 goals in his last 3 games, joint second top scorer in the SPL, with about 4 other players with 11 goals.

Stokes is a goal machine if he has a good partner. Also enjoys a bit of showboating, happy with that :50:

Absolutely right..and some strikers are like that. But when Stokes and Hooper are playing together I feel like we can score anytime we have possesion.

stokes was brilliant tonight and really deserves credit off the people saying he is not celtic class sometimes he doesn't get it right but with the chance we create he is bound to get goals and we cant ask anymore from him, he showed real striker quality when he followed hooperman into the box and banged in his second most strikers wouldn't have done that so well done stokesy

I actually think he might be a better finisher than Hooper. Although Hooper gets himself in more goalscoring positions.

Very good partnership, being very unselfish and you can tell they are mates. Very happy with this.

    Why start a new thread?

Bump the old one and show up all the trumpets that said he wasn't good enough when it was blatantly obvious to everyone else that he is. :bbpd:

for us this season. Huge Celtic man and he runs his own pub in Dublin.:celt_2:

Oh? I wasn't aware of that, brilliant. :icon_mrgreen:

And fans were slating him because he was pretty * dreadful as a lone striker, but to be fair he makes up for it when he as a partner :50:

He is, Stokes and Riordan are the best finishers in Scotland.

They score from all angles, freekicks and rarely miss 1 on 1, especially the target, they rarely miss the target with a shot. They can score from outside the box by cutting in etc

Hoopers more of a goal threat with his positioning and off the ball movement and will score 90% from inside the box.

Why debate who is better at what? :icon_mrgreen:

The pair of them are forming a formidable partnership that is developing before our very eyes.

Never meant it as a debate I meant it as they compliment each other very well :icon_mrgreen:

Ive noticed this too and makes watching them even more enjoyable. Stokes was laughing after putting away that tap in when Hooperman got taken down in the box today. I wonder what he said to him, "Sorry mate but I would have taken the penalty anyways" :celt_2:

    I conkur :50:
We shouldn't get in to a debating match about who is better. Both Hooper
and Stokes are deadly. Hooper bullies defences and can score from all angles. Stokes seems to have everything in his locker inside and outside the box.And they both seem to like each other a lot.Hard to find that sort of team spirit and cameraderie with strikers. I think I last saw that with Hartson. Larsson and Sutton.

Put it this way if I were a centre back or goalkeeper, I wouldn't want to be facing those two.
