Is anybody quite skeptical of Elyounoussi? he did score a good few in Europe last season though but the Norwegian League seems like a pretty easy League to score in, all teams seem to score for fun compred to most Leagues.

Like Filip Kiss, 7 goals in 15 games this season for Haugesund, he scored 6 goals in 50 games for Ross County.

For all we know James Forrest could score 20 a season in Norway.

 

Not in the slightest. 7 goals in 12 games in Europe last season, plus 29 goals in 67 matches in his league - playing as a winger. That's fantastic.

In my opinion £2 million odd for a player with those stats seems like an absolute bargain.

 

Always those who buck that theory though.
Zlatan in Sweden and Holland.
Even Suarez in Holland.

Then you have Virgil who when we signed him a fair few suggested he was * as well because all Dutch teams were * at defending and folk scored for fun there.

Some need to buck that trend sometimes, and the fact he has shown it in Europe should suggest a good player is in there.

I'd judge him on his European goals more than his domestic goals, the top scorers last season had 73 and the season before were 62, we have scored over 20 more goals in both seasons

It could be but also a gamble too as a lot of players seem to score for fun there, that would give him confidence going into Europe too that he scores basically every other game domestically.

At Celtic if he was to only score 1 in every 4/5 games his confidence would take a hit for playing in Europe for us. If we are in for him hopefully he's been well scouted and doesn't turn out a Pukki or Scepovic.

 

Its a fair point but he is very highly rated and by all accounts was excellent in europe and we saw 1st hand his talent against us. I would be delighted with him as a signing.

We play 8 games more than them though, in general most teams in Norway score more.

Like the teams who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Norway all conceded over 40 goals in only 30 games.

Most conceded in the SPL was Inverness with 70 in 38 games, a team in Norway conceded 69 in 30 games, in 38 they would have conceded on average like 88 goals. It means the standard of defending there is really awful from a lot of teams. I actually watched Ajers team at the weekend and his team were rank rotten, they defended like how I imagine a team like East Stirling would if they played in the SPL.

Also in the Norwegian Cups scored like 7/8/9/10/11/12/13-0 are common.

Would rather we never moved for elyounoussi, even though he scored against us he never stood out in terms of quality.

In the Norweigian Cup last season 2 teams won 13-0. 3 teams won 7-0, 1 team won 9-0 and one won 9-3, about 10 other teams scored 5 or 6 in their games, one games went to penalties after a 5-5 draw where the penalty score was only 5-4 :smiley-laughing002:.

Forrest could notch a seasons worth of goals for Celtic in like 2 cup ties in Norway :smiley-laughing002:

Henderson at 19, starting like 1 game for Rosenborg got 4 goals in 13 games.

 

You're missing the point though. Elyounoussi has a great record in Europe.
