    What? :97:

Moyes paid for early access to the same database that was used in FM, including current and potential ability.

This tweet comes from arguably the best journalist in European football IMO. Should be reliable

EDIT: Sean beat me to it :smiley-laughing002:

Hope it's true. Seems like we're starting to be linked with better players.

You are both wrong but considering you think it's ok to use a game to scout players I don't find that surprising in the slightest.

He had access to an unedited database of compiled data, that meant he himself could make a call on a player based on a full spectrum of fan opinion not a guy programming a computer game with an IT degree.

So he used the exact same data that programmer did.

Whether you want to accept it or not, FM has incredible knowledge of player potential. It's found so so so many stars in the past, you'd be crazy to deny it's accuracy.

Sky Italia are usually spot on apparently. Constantly hearing that they're usually well informed.

Yes, he did. He used raw data which no FM computer gamer has access to because it would have given him a feel for fan opinion and he himself or his staff could then interpret that as they wished. SI did his marketing for him they didn't scout his players.

If you want to play the guess the star accuracy game they have been miles wide of the mark much, much, much more than they have been right. In fact they are right more by the law of averages than by the power of its player potential database.

So, yeah, call me batshit crazy. It is utterly embarrassing using computer games to scout or recommend players.

I remember watching him playing a few times a couple of years ago, either at the World Cup or Copa America and he played well. A left winger similar to McGeady id say.

Hammer seems to be finding difficulty in grasping the concept, or otherwise attempting to navigate an insurmountable barrier of simple logic with a sea of bullshit. What the * are you talking about? Gamers have access to the same database Moyes did. Fact. Stop trying to bring in some variable involving an IT geek. It's irrelevant and embarrassingly transparent.

FM is not something I would consider to be gospel truth in terms of player evaluations, but there is nothing wrong with taking an interested look at a player's stats on FM after Celtic have been linked with said player.

Really? He doesn't have many tricks in the bag. Good delivery and work-rate. Was always too limited for Juventus, but wouldn't be a terrible signing.

He's had a very strange career. Loaned to much better clubs than owned him and never stayed anywhere for any length of time.

By all accounts he was fantastic in Serie A last season right enough which makes you wonder why Sampdoria aren't in for him?

One of the first links after a Google.

"We have provided Everton with our complete database over 370,000 players and staff from around the world, who are all rated with a few hundred stats. There’s a lot of stuff in there that you don’t see in the game or the editor, so they have a definite advantage."

    I'll leave it at that.

Maldonado are a proxy club for investors. He was never intended to play for them.
