Basically this. Paddy is an enigma but he is a very, very talented player. If he starts he has to know that he needs to get stuck in.

It is a must in an Old Firm match.

Stamina comes with playing games, he's never been given a run of games to build up match fitness.

    Must, must, MUST start tomorrow.

Used to do long distance running and I can assure you that a * of a lot of stamina is in your genes or natural makeup. Some people just dont have it and some people (Scott Brown for example) have incredible engines. Paddy seems to not have it. I remember reading Strachans book and he said his son had poor natural stamina and no amount of training and diets could make up for that. More than one person has said that Pat is a smoker too and that is a disaster for stamina.

That said, I agree he should start tomorrow in a free role. I just have a hunch that he could do well. Maloney is out, Forrest is too young IMO and McGinn has not been great so I would give Pat the chance as the single ball player I would start with v Rangers.

Paddy has proven in his past 2 games that he is capable of playing possibly every match this season. If Lennon drops McCourt then I will believe that he is definetley not the right man for the job :50:

Playing two games in a row doesn't prove this but when Paddy is fit he must start.

for me he's VERY frustrating sometimes you're shoting at the telly THERE'S THE PASS PADDY MAKE ITT NOWWWWW cos a players made a nice run n he doesn't do it but then he'll score later in the game n it'll be vital, he deserves a chance V the huns but tbh, I'd not be suprised in the slightest if he fails to take the chance

He's probably our most gifted weapon against the huns. They know it too and are gonna try everything to neutralise him tomorrow. Expect him to get only a handful of useful passes.

As far as comparing paddy to messi is concerned,if you put messi in our league he would soon look less brilliant than he is because of the * hammer throwers of defenders we have in our game, and if you put paddy in la liga,he would look a fantastic player because he would,nt have to worry about gettin booted off the ball by neanderthall defenders, evey time he gets the ball.gaunyersel paddybhoy:50:

That comment is laughable. If you put Messi in our league he'd score 10 goals before half time.

He would,nt get near enough to score a goal cause he would get the hatchet teatment from the likes of macculloch and other so called "footballers" in this league of ours.that,s the point i was making.

Based on the way McCourt has played lately he has to start. Even more so with Hooper injured he may well be our best route to goal whether he scores himself or creates one for someone else.

McCourt will be a target for the boot boys for the huns have and he and Lennon will know this ,could be an advantage letting Paddy roam free from 30 yards out and let him run at them ,he will either get through or ffs get a Penalty and maybe a sending off ,[in the real world this would happen :icon_mrgreen:] but seriously he must play from the start but we will see the true side of they bassas tomorrow if Paddy is on his game.

IMHO we should play to our strenghths and the huns weaknesses.sounds simple and probably is,ball on the deck, played to feet thru the middle, short, sharp passing and movement-the monkeys game is based on strength-hustle and bustle, play football and they will get themselves sent off-ideally.balls to wide men and high crosses are a waste of time-i want to see the likes of paddy and forrest being direct and running toward goal v weir and bougherra-all they ned is service from the middle men-with scott clown out we might have the nous to do this

Hes fit just naturally slow, ran his socks of today ( albiet in slow motion ) and made a few defence splitting passes.
