He is not like Hooper at all , He is exactly the type of striker we need to pair Hooper with , Strong great in the air , pace power can finish , holds up the ball excellent . target man with pace .

Fulham,Newcastle added to the clubs that want him now.

READING manager Brian McDermott has denied suggestions the Berkshire club have made an enquiry for Swindon Town striker Charlie Austin.

The Royals were linked with a possible player plus cash move for the 17-goal hotshot during the week, but McDermott has moved to quash those rumours.

Instead the Championship club's boss said Austin would be too expensive for his promotion-chasing side.

When asked whether Reading had made contact with Town regarding a possible move for Austin, McDermott said: "No. Not at all.

"I know Charlie Austin and he will be a very expensive player in the January window, but we’re not in a situation where we can sign expensive players.

"Whether he leaves Swindon or not, I’ve no idea and it’s nothing to do with me."

If we're in for him I can't see him turning us down for Reading. Hoping for this!

This one excites me for some reason, he just looks like a proper old fashioned striker. A big John Hartson type.

Unusual for a player to tweet about transfers but that's a real account, looks as though we'd be in the driving seat!

"Celtic are a massive club with great support but I'm just focused on doing well for Swindon and helping the team." That's what he said.
