Looks a decent player, But could he really handle playing for the hoops, he has only played Non-league and lower league english football.

Same story with Hooper. Unfortunately, the lower leagues are where most of our transfers will take place now, as leagues like the EPL have hugely overinflated prices.

Yes please, big powerful lad as well that knows where the net is. Having him and Hooper up top would provide goals a plenty imo!

I would rule out Hull off that list of clubs wanting him they bid 850k had it knocked back , and since then have agreed fees and are in talks with the two strikers , Aaron Mclean and Matty Fryatt.

No :97:. Hooper was third top scorer in the championship last year, playng for the second worst team. Austin has nver played above the third tier. Why do you and others always feel the need to compare Hooper to low-league players?

Well, I think we must have a decent relationship with Swindon & I kinda keep an eye on them out of interest.

He's certainly decent at that level & it's not too far from the SPL.

Maybe we could chuck in some fringe players like O'Dear, or McGowan.

Or tie up a more robust feeder club system, giving the loans of players like Misun, Towell or even the younger ones.

I'd take him, but 1.5 millions seems too much.

Yes, but we only bought him after he proved himself in the Championship. Austin has done no such thing. Oh yeah, you're logic makes perfect sense: if you once played in the lower leagues as a youth like Hooper, you must be as good as him in higher ones. :97: :bbpd:

I have to agree with this - hooper proved himself at a higher level before celtic bought him, austin has proven nothing yet and could be a total flop in a tougher league. Look at Beckford - he looks useless at everton

He's 21 years of age ok he has played non-league football but when he did he scored 48 goals in 42 gasmes and moved onto Swindon where he has scored 28 goals in 47 games, oh but i'm sure you'd rather have Murphy and Samaras
