lets face facts!! in the past we could have said na this aint for us but a player like this could now walk into our side and make it better and i think we should go for it as long as it doest stop us getting a centre half and striker this window

He could walk into our side? So he's comfortably better than Maloney, McCourt, McGinn and Kapo? We can still say he isn't for us ffs.

    Cha likes Freddie's Underwear

BBC Sport - Football - Cha Du-Ri welcomes Freddie Ljungberg to Celtic on trial

Cha, who scored his first goal for Celtic in the first minute of injury time against St Johnstone on Sunday before South Korea team mate Ki Sung-yueng clinched the points with the second, joked: "Freddie Ljungberg is a very famous player and I like his underwear. I have a lot of Calvin Klein underwear at home. Maybe I'll show him."

These things usually go two ways, he could get a new lease of life at Celtic and become inspired to play for this wonderful club or he could just treat this as a pay day at the end of his career.

I seem to recall a few Swedes doing alright for Celtic.

it's not hard to see that freddie would walk into the team therefore he's a worth while signing. Regardless of age. What difference does his age make if he's only going to be here for 6/18 months? He's better than all them bar maloney, conner. n Maloney's out for 4 months and even at that there is two wings that need to be filled.

How much have you seen of him to know that he's better than all our wingers bar Maloney? I've heard nothing since he left West Ham, and he was a has-been then. I very much doubt that he is still better than McCourt.

Totally agree mate and would have been more usefull yesterday also.
As for his age he could be up against Weir and if he is half as good as he was at arsenal then hel do a job.

How much is glass legs Maloney getting paid for being a spectator for over half the season?

    Too much.

Not sure why some are slating this to be honest.

Few suggest we don't need him but I dissagree. I think his experience is worth the 10k alone.

He may be past it.... Depends how you define 'past it'

I personally think his brain is his biggest asset at this stage.

When you look at our players you see lots of youth with no real experience other than brown, maloney and big dan so another old head could be vital.

So yeah... It's a gamble alright but one worth taking. Lenny has hardly put a foot wrong in regards to transfares so I trust his judgement.

Let's give freddie a chance.. IMHO he deserves at least that.

I agree with your pov in principle.

However quite a few have come through. Rogne,Forrest ki (he is classed as youth and only had potential when he signed)

Quite a few others litterally knocking on the door too wih the twardzik twins being the stand-outs and towel millar and misun.

The youths are pretty * strong at the moment. Not too far off first 11 football if given a chance.

I'd be annoyed if any of the names above get shipped out because they have real futures.

Back on topic though.... It's because of the youths and the youths in the first team that I think freddie has value.

Everbody keeps on going on about his age, that is garbage. If someone has good ability then surely age is irrelevant. Robert Pires is 37 and playing in the premiership. He come from a top 4 spanish side where he done well also. IMO, get Freddie signed.
