I think we got fined for having Palestine flags against Reykjavic at Murrayfield, but I could be wrong.

 

We were, roughly about £20k - I forgot about that.

But again, it was overblown, UEFA handed us the fine, we paid as did ST Johnstone and that was that.

So, as we all agree UEFA are hypocrites/corrupt we should get our Club to tell them we don’t wish to play in their tournament. If we don’t and we actually attend any of these CL games then technically .. :smiley-laughing002:

Reading this on Celtics facebook puts it into perspective. The charity aspect of our club is taking as back seat to the money making machine. We may not be giving them money directly but I am happy for our club to donate to UEFA if it brings hope to these downtrodden people.

 

It's one of the ironies of power without accountability that, whenever you make any kind of stand against its wishes, you seem hypocritical precisely when you are being most authentic.

 

They're not being taken on, if they decide to punish us then not a jot of difference will our protestations make. When the kudos of this blows over & IF a stand is shut I can assure you there will be a lot of fans supremely * off. If you're in the '* them it was worth it camp' then fair enough. But I can see fractures appearing within the support. Let's say we were to face an Israeli team next year & a similar protest was to result in not the threat of closures but the fact of it. I cannot see a unified consensus being reached on doing something similar.

Anyway as it stands this is all speculative. Some here seem certain that it will be a financial slap on the wrists so * it crack on.
