Well I would have thought given, for once, the empire actually saved people from something they didn't want ie being ruled by Argentina that we would celebrate that not condemn it. Very confusing :smiley-laughing002:

Well depends on how you look at it. All the way out there to play war games, costing * knows how much money, costing lives. To give 15 farmers, a post master and the local landlord their wishes. All this to hold onto somewhere 300 odd miles of the coast of South America. Good old British values.:50:

    :smiley-laughing002: That's right.

Could you imagine if that's all we had left in Celtic Park one day? All the wee groups and one wee guy selling choon gum, macaroon bars, wolf nipple chips, jaguar ear lobes and otter noses. :smiley-laughing002:

So are you saying that the inhabitants should have just been abandoned and left to be ruled by a military power.
I think there was a 'few' more inhabitants as well :smiley-laughing002:
Anyway as there is oil down there it was a wise decision and one that Scotland will benefit from when we come to divide the assets of the UK :86:

Will the banner be upside down again the morra? after the Livingston/Bankier fiasco? John Reid never really done anything wrong compared to they two.

It's a pity the AGM was so close to the Kilmarnock game or the Green Brigade could have put together a big banner showing the feelings of the Celtic support. Most statements they put on banners seem to split opinion but one on the AGM would get the backing of the vast majority of fans.

You would like to think so unfortunately if you look at the AGM thread I doubt it.

After another highly successful collection, we just wanted to take the opportunity to thank a few people who helped out in the lead up, and during, the collection.

John Paul Taylor for helping out with various things at Celtic, Kano Foundation for collection buckets, Tara from Trussell Trust for her help and support as always, and all the volunteers back at the food banks who helped unload tonnes of food off the vans. It wasn't just GB members who helped at collection points, we were inundated with offers of assistance from other fans and these were greatly received, including various vans that were given for the day. A great effort all round.

The response from the Celtic support was brilliant, and the donations will help thousands of families in Glasgow this Christmas. Even a couple of players chipped in - well done to Kieran Tierney and Aiden Nesbitt who filled a trolley of items. Great to see. In the end, we had at least 8 vans and multiple cars absolutely packed to the brim heading to different parts of the city tonight.

We will start to count the monetary donations over the coming days and will update on our site when we have the final tally. This number will be divided among various food banks across Glasgow, with a donation also making its way to Lajee Community Centre in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.

Every single contribution, large or small, was much appreciated. Thank you.
