Ah, OK, that's less mental, then. Probably just marketing, I guess.

That McGregor post is * awesome :smiley-laughing002:

I won't be wearing a poppy - I was close to it, but the current TV ad campaign listed all the reasons and didn't once mention WW2. Our current 'heroes'? Paid, professional soldiers engaging in conflict we should never be involved in.

However - I will absolutely defend anyone's right to wear it.

How? Many Irish people have fought in world wars including members of my family. I don't wear one but, it has different meanings for people. He has a right to wear it. You a little * off at his little dig at Celtic fans giving him abuse?

Nothing to do with that fairly * dig.

Can go into why alot of Irish people fought in the world wars and fair play to them, fact is that little flower also represents people who have slaughtered and tortured innocent Irish people not even that long ago, the fact the money spent on that little pin could end up in the back pocket of some murdering * soldier who terrorised my fellow Irish men and women dosent sit well with me.

I agree with your view on the Poppy but as I said it has different meanings for People. Calling him a traitor for wearing a poppy is petty. He already gave his reason. I'm sure a lot of British tax payers money helps the British Army. Plenty of Irish people paying taxes in Britain.

Theres been a massive overreaction but McGregor didn't help himself at all with the stupid post.

That cinema ticket i bought earlier on could end up benefiting al qaueda somehow, the difference is when you buy that poppy you know exactly where the money is going to, only one place.

He cant come out to his fights talking about how his people are warriors with a rebel song about brittanias huns and then wear a poppy pin, shows hes not as intelligent as he likes to go on.

Before the Kilmarnock match at Celtic Park on November 21st, the Green Brigade will once again ask the Celtic support to come together and help sustain Glasgow’s food banks with much needed provisions for those most in need this Christmas. Following on from the incredible response received last year, we will be collecting for Food banks right across Glasgow for the first time. The Celtic support have shown time and time again how they can make a huge impact on people’s lives who must rely on the help of others, refusing to let those in our communities go hungry. We will be collecting items across several points surrounding the stadium for those who are able to donate and welcome any cash donations.

This year we will also be making a donation to the Lajee community centre in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem as we look at support not only those in our community but stand beside those who face oppression in Palestine.

"A football club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and the unemployed."
