Pretty dire away crowd IMO

 

After Malmo the enthusiasm for the Europa League was pretty non existent from many, also throw in a fixture that many are tired of to begin the group and I don't think it's a great surprise many didn't bother making this trip, of the 3 trips I definitely say Fenerbache would be the one to do.

On a personal level I find Amsterdam a * awful sort of place in any case, Ajax fans are utter scumbags to top it off

If you were not there then you are thee worst type of football fan there is. Worse than the guys who complain there's no atmosphere even though ye never sing.

Not so sure. We took less than 500 to Salzburg for the game at the same time last year. Also played Ajax two years ago so that got it out of many's system! Lack of your stag do types there last week,no charter flights and of course folk put off by what happened last time. Days of us taking thousands and thousands mostly gone unless we ever draw someone 'new' like Dortmund, Madrid.

I would never rush to visit Amsterdam other than for football but being honest can't deny that it's a great city for Scottish/Irish football fans - tons of pubs/cafe bars all over the place. Stayed away from the fanzone and ended up in a few pubs that were full of Ajax fans and everything was fine, although the barstaff did tell us to bolt eventually :smiley-laughing002:.

Just the type of fannies Amsterdam attracts is enough of a deterent for me, roasters in stag parties wearing matching t shirts mixed in with brain dead * is not my idea of fun, Ajax are not the most inviting of fans either albeit I take your issue the vast majority are sound enough.

Id much prefer a trip to FC Twente, Alkmaar or Arnhem than Amsterdam if I had to go to Holland.

Istanbul looks like a quality city imo. Not sure how good it would be from a visiting fan perspective but the city itself looks class.
