Mate, they have to be players with the potential to improve our team (even if not immediately in the case of some younger players), with the potential to improve markedly and be sold for a profit and be affordable and willing to come here. That's a * tough ask!

It's the job of Ronny and the scouting team to identify these investment opportunities and not the job of the board to throw money away by investing in poor prospects for the sake of it.

Funnily enough RR one of the only things I agree with him on is that we would ,as fans, buy shares and institutions would likely invest as well. However its not something that should be done to raise funds for wages/transfer fees. Its more for infrastructure ie training facility/stadia upgrade.
Anyway I re-read the original posts and I cant believe I got sucked in and wasted my time replying, given his utter failure to even grasp the original question I asked :smiley-laughing002:

    * me, I sound like Lawwell's PR manager, but if we're going to criticise the board, let's criticise them for the * they deserve and not stuff like this where they have a professional expertise that they are using to the extent that our difficult circumstances allow.

TimTime your are a special case...didn't you agree with me that most football clubs DO NOT run at a profit? Do you agree that making a profit every financial year is actually quite bizzare?

All authority should be questioned. I take it we should just leave George Osbourne and David Cameron to cut the deficit unchallenged? I'm sure they are experts having studied PPE at Oxford.....

It wasn't the Boards fault we lost , we just didn't turn up for a massive game for us . Most fans hav previously said Ronny's the man, but the next few months will make or break him. We don't have millions to squander, so the Europa campaign will tell us wot, if any progress has been made. Still gutted from Tuesday.:shamrock::shamrock:

Do you believe the club has regressed over the last number of years?

If, like the majority I'd imagine, you do- then who is to blame?

George Osborne is an idiot who couldn't find his own * with both hands and yet is charged with running the economy I live and work in; Lawwell etc are highly qualified, experienced professionals charged with running a company owned by people other than me.

The two situations aren't remotely comparable.

Rod Stewart has paid tribute to Celtic fans' group The Green Brigade by featuring them on his new album.

The Ultras group can be heard chanting during a game on a track from the Celtic fanatic's new record Another Country.

Rod penned a song called We Can Win about his love of football and wanted the Parkhead singing section to be part of it.

The track includes audio of the fans singing 'Come on you Bhoys in Green' - one of their favourite chants.

Rod said: "In the middle of the song there's a break and you will hear all the Green Brigade, which is the Celtic supporters up in Glasgow singing.

"So this song means a lot to me being a big Celtic supporter.

"It's basically about sport but if you zero in on it it's about football and the will to win.

"It's also about what it's like to be a great football fan, walking up to the stadium for an evening kick-off and seeing the floodlights with anticipation and the nerves.

"It's just brilliant so I put it all in a song."

During the song, the fans can be heard singing: "Celtic, Celtic, come on you bhoys in green, come on you bhoys in green, come on you bhoys in green, come on you bhoys in green, Glasgow's green and white, Glasgow's green and white, Glasgow's green and white, Glasgow's green and white."

Another Country, the 70-year-old music legend's 29th studio album, is due to be released on October 23.

    Cheers for that information, Crow.

I will be buying that then, always liked listening to Rod Stewart music, even remember when fans used to sing "We are Sailing" on the terraces :smiley-laughing002:
