Fair play to the GB. The players get paid thousands and put in a disgraceful performance on Tuesday. The board are a joke aswell

This is the responce I got when I was critical of Ronnie calling out the players in the media. If its OK for the manager to be critical then the fans should be afforded the same right

Then they should be out the * door if they can't accept fans criticism.

And aye before the game is fine, when did you think would be suitable ?

Maybe in the players front gardens first thing in the morning ?

I have bolded the part that is obviously true Paul. I also 100% agree with the last paragraph, however again I don't know why it is being raised again in this thread as no-one has said people do not have the right to boo the Green Brigade.

In terms of the "you or us" Green Brigade argument ( and I am not a member of the GB). I don't think this is something that can be levelled at the Green Brigade ( or their supporters) any more than it can the larger Celtic support.

I always find the Green Brigade discussions funny ( and I am not including you in this but..) the AntiGreenBrigade Ultras are just as entrenched as any supporter of the Green Brigade.

I have no doubt some who booed today did it as the banner was a Green Brigade banner and would have done it as a reflex reaction.

    100% agree with it.

The players were a joke on Tuesday, obviously.

And this transfer policy we have of signing sub standard SPL players and EPL youths, just isn't cutting it with a fair section of our support.

Dunno about you but if I do a * job, I get criticised. Footballers have to accept that too. Abuse is another matter.

Public criticism by your boss isn't abuse but IMO is bad management. I don't think Ronny was criticising them, though. "Gutless" is a criticism; scared" is just stating a fact without necessarily implying the players were to blame for that.

Yeah agree with that exactly what I was thinking, it's just not something I expected the GB to do to be honest, took a lot of people by surprise today.

Ronny done it in the media to get a reaction and to get the players to prove themselves to the fans.
When the fans put a banner like that the players will feel the fans have turned on them a bit and would add more unnecessary pressure, I think it deflated them a bit more which is not needed just now.

Personally I dont think it served any purpose to air this in the media. Will it serve as encouragement to Ajax when we meet them. Maybe maybe not but I see no upside for us.

I would prefer that kind of stuff be kept behind closed doors too. Presumably Ronny know what he's doing, though, it's not the first time he's done something like that.

But thing is Cookie. Ronny had the chance to do that after the consolation of the late goal in the first leg. He was given the leeway to do that by the fans and it didn't work. Whether that was his fault or the players fault I don't know.

The other way you could look at today's banner is a lot of the fans are very * off but haven't taken the easy option of just saying sack the manager but have made it quite clear they are not happy.

There are times when everyone has to pull together and Celtic do this very well, but everyone pulling together means " everyone" pulling together not just "everyone staying on message".

This is the problem with our fans. Totally hypnotised by the balance sheets. We are a FOOTBALL CLUB...we should not be making a profit whatsoever and we should actually be in manageable debt.

No wonder our club is falling behind and downsizing when we have attitudes like this.

You're just speculating here as we don't really know why Ronny said what he did, nor how the players will have reacted to the banner. I can't help notice that you have been very generous in giving Ronny the benefit of the doubt in that regard, but not the GB.

You could just as easily argue it the other way: that the GB did it to try and "get a reaction" from the players, whereas Ronny said what he said to shift blame from himself into the players. That's an equally valid piece of speculation.

The truth is we don't know.

If I may be permitted my own speculation: perhaps both Ronny and the GB have the best interests of the club at heart and thought that their comments/banner would challenge the players.

Same. Sometimes you just have to trust that the professionals employed by the club know what they're doing, even if you don't understand it, unless and until there's strong evidence to the contrary.

    Same goes for Lawwell.
