Celtic Supporters Thread (contains GB chat)

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Paul67, Dec 17, 2010.

  1. No issue with the banner at all. Just wish the board would take heed and loosen the purse strings.

  2. They can boo if they want but I think it's stupid when it's a banner rightfully criticising a terrible board.

  3. I wonder if the Blackett deal was rushed through after the board saw that banner. Can imagine them doing that in a * attempt to win back the fans support.

  4. You complain about fans not being allowed an opinion but come on here to complain about the opinions of some of the fans.

  5. I thought it was bizarre how the deal was announced in the middle of the match.

  6. As I said previously, I have absolutely no problem with the banner, and I actually agree with the content.

What I do have a problem with, is this attitude that always raises it's head whenever the GB do something publicly. This "agree with us or you are a *" type stance from some GB supporters.

This type of attitude, imo, is what went a long way to dividing the support last time round.

Every Celtic supporter has the right to their own opinion, whether as part of a group, or personally.

If some want to hold a banner up, it is their right. If some vocally disagree with the banner, it is also their right.

  7. Spot on couldn't have said it better

  8. A terrible board which has made us virtually debt free and make a profit each year, yes they do need to change their buying policy for players, doesn't make them a terrible board just that it has to be run as a business.

It's just from a personal stand point I hate to see a banner slating the team like that. It * me off. It seems there were a lot of people at the game that disagreed with the idea of doing while most on here are agree with the GB for doing it.

  9. The board statement I agreed with
Slating the players I didn't agree with

  10. I think everyone is in the same boat and agree Celtic were gutless in Malmo, that's everyone's opinion on the game but to make a banner for it is a different thing.

  11. I thought the boo's were because the GB refused to sing initially and there for caused an awkward atmosphere. I think everyone agreed with the banner.

  12. I support the banner and would still have supported it had it been more criticial and more strongly worded. Tuesday night WAS gutless and this board need a rocket put up their arses. The fans are being sold short by them right now.

  13. Are the players immune to criticism ?

  14. On a banner before a game really smart move what if the players had thought "* it" and downed tools today

  15. I agree with this. Personally I don't agree with the banner, but I fully support the right for some fans to display it and for others to boo it. What isn't healthy is when both sides start getting on their high horse about the other, that's what split the support last time.

  16. If this was just a normal fan people wouldn't bother

The Green Brigade do it and folk go mental over it

  17. :smiley-laughing002:

  18. I kinda agree that it doesn't help the players seeing that but although the board have done next to * all to give us a better chance of getting to the CL group stage the players should have been good enough to beat Maribor and Malmo ffs!!! It's never been easier to get into the CL groups getting put out by * like that is shocking. The team let themselves and more importantly us down big style especially this year.

Looked like they downed tools at half time against Malmo, it was a pathetic whimper of a performance

  19. Er, they're paid a wage to do a job. Do you down tools and walk off site when a client or customer criticises your work?

Abuse is another matter, no one should have to take the abuse footballers sometimes get, but this doesn't fall into that category.

I get where your coming from. Whereas I agree with the sentiment on the banner I dont know if it actual served any purpose and in my opinion was unnecessary. I think the players will already know that we are * about Wednesday night. I do however support their right to express their feelings even if I do not concur.
