I'm sorry Dublinbhoy but this post makes no sense. If you think every fan that goes to away games is belting out "the" songs or indeed any songs then you are a wee bit deluded.

Not sure how the "ultra thing is a bit generic and mainstream" either tbh.

I'm no a member and have never even thought of joining but I can see how in the current climate they have such a positive impact on the Celtic support.

I'm a little bit drunk now and I hardly make any sense sober I'm jusy trying to say I wish we didn't need the GB because Celtic park would be full of dirty * * signing there heart's out every game what little I learned of Celtic growing up was that it's 60,000 fans singing every Celtic and rebel song out for 90 minutes not needing a small group to kick start it

It kinda just makes Celtic fans as a whole seem less special ( obviously I know now that I'm older that everybody has different views about the songs like that I guess it's still a bit of childhood innocents in me ha)

    Fair enough :50:

You do have an idealised view of the Celtic support in the 90's though. However proportionally speaking there were far less boring wanks in our support back then.

The 90's must of Been class mate I'd give anything to go back to them days losing for so long and just not giving a * anymore going out to do or die playing the Celtic Way That's Celtic at its purest form for me

I know but just Tommy's team when we only lost one game in the season just sticks out as a special time

    98 was alright. :smiley-laughing002:

Suppose it depends when you started supporting Celtic. 96,97 etc the atmosphere at Celtic Park was certainly miles better then nowadays.

Yea I know but the fact it's still talked about now just shows sometimes it's not all about winning even when he won the cup IMO has to go down as one of are best ever wins can't imagine how good it felt only games close would be Lisbon the leeds semi and stopping the 10

Our support home and away in European co.petition and in the old Derby's is up with the very best in the world. Our away support has always been amazing. Tailed off since huns went bust but still plenty of trips where it is a.azing and today was one of them days.

Only thing is our domestic home support is poor but thats due to fans wanting to sing being spread out, no standing, no competition or particular excitement. I would be up for it every game which is why I go in 110 when I go to domestic matches but sadly there's a lot who dont want to sing when we play spl sides at home.

Overall though with all the gigs, the pubs, the away support and home support in big matches + the fact we draw crowds of 30-50k for spl ; I would say our support is very special and you won't be short of electric atmospheres throughout a season.

I didnt want to open a thread just for this but I would like to ask a question here.

I would like to travel to see a Celtic match as an away supporter in a small stadium, those that you can hear the players shouting at each other, which I think that would be a completely different experience than one at Celtic Park. I really regret missing that match against Cliftonville when I still lived in Ireland. Ideally I think the best would be in a cup draw against a lower league team but as I am coming from abroad I cant plan those with enough advance.

Which SPL ground fits better with what I want to?
