I'm not an idiot. Nobody is destroying these seats on purpose, so it's not about entitlement; damaged seat are an occasional and unfortunate side effect of the brilliant displays the section puts on, the costs of which are surely more than defrayed by the money the club makes from GB displays.

What the * is lateral movement anyways?

Don't we do that every week?

    "The Huddle"?

Or is lateral movement something else and I am missing something here?

The huddle though everyone just stands and jumps, lateral movement is moving side to side which causes the stairs in the stadium to be blocked or potential for people to fall down the steps.

It sounds ridiculous to close a section due to lateral movement, stupid as *. However, the club are only acting on the rules which they are made to impose. It's an unfortunate situation and one which could get quite messy.

Also, it mentioned that continual standing during the game was an issue that various organisations pressed Celtic on, that's * ridiculous. Picture the atmosphere if the Green Brigade sat down and tried to create an atmosphere, those * have really lost touch with football. A safe standing zone is vital to sorting all this * out but you'd imagine that would've been done over the break if it was to be done at all so that might be a no-go for a while anyway. Do the people making the rules really want to see every stadium full of people just sitting down quietly watching the match, showing no passion but simply clapping and high-fiving each other when their team score? It's infuriating that's what the authorities want.

Hopefully there's a resolution to all this * quickly, can fully understand both sides of the argument but people do need to acknowledge the board were being forced into a corner over this by health and safety *.

    I'm not picky.
But the thing is just because the Club makes money through whatever resources it doesn't really make the breaking of the seats ok. I truely believe the seats aren't being broken on purpose and they are more than likely broken because of "boisterous" behaviour in that section whether it's due to overcrowding, lateral movement or whatever. However if that is the case then it can be argued that if this didn't happen then the seats wouldn't be getting broken.

The thing is, some people are quick as * to condemn the Green Brigade for whatever is happening in section 111 but they are about 80 members whereas how many seats are in that section? It could be a bunch of wee neds in section 111 for all we know. And if all this IS happening then what the * are the stewards (who are supposed to be a part of safety control at the grounds) and the police doing as it all goes on? It's one of the more heavily policed areas in the ground so you think if there was any safety issues going on then the stewards/police would step in to do something about it. If they aren't then they are doing a fairly * poor job of things.

I've seen a few people mention about a standing section and I think they are right. If that section was made into a standing section then I don't think there would be any issues with any of this and it could very well be the wisest option.

Agree with this and I'm the same. I can see both sides of it and the unfortunate thing with modern football now is that there are so many H&S laws the clubs have to obey their hands are tied. It's basically obey the rules or suffer the punishment. While it's obviously a good thing to have safety at the grounds I feel that it's gotten too heavy and it will eventually get to the stage where the fans will have to sit down all the time and when a goal is scored just politely applaud.

    * retarded decision from the club and unbelievable that Scotland hasn't dumped the stupid no standing rubbish. Green Brigade is a massive part of the match day experience. We have people legally standing/jumping in seated areas in Australia, no one dies. *shock-horror*

I feel like I've just woken up from a night on the sesh and remembered some terrible and regrettable antics, only this time it was not my terrible antics :54:. Regardless of whether people think the GB where right or wrong, whether Celtics hand was forced by a higher power or not, to completely split them up means the atmosphere is going to be dead. Who's gonna bring back the thunder now?

I didn't get a chance to read any of these threads yesterday. I won't lie bhoys and ghirls, the amount of venom spouted on here over the last 24 hours has left me feeling pretty sad. Some of the stuff I was reading at times made me think I had stumbled onto a zombie forum.

Remember what our club stands for. Long after the men in suits are gone we will still be here. If you disagree with the club that's fine but any action that could have an adverse affect on the team cannot be tolerated.

This has been happening for two seasons before this one if it was that much bad health and safety it should have been closed along time ago . You would not be allowed to ignore health and safety for two years at work then get the sack so for me there is more to it

I really do hate a bit of whataboutery but I'm guessing every club in Scotland will fall foul of this "health and safety" initiative?

Because if it truly is the council enforcing this and not the club then surely we won't be the only club to be sanctioned...

As long as they weren't moving from side to side, lateral movement and all that.
