Its a * or bust game now against scotland , I am hoping we will do them, the atmosphere seemed excellent at the avvia last night unusually for a football match.

There's more to football than composure and tippy tappy passing though. I think if you couldn't enjoy that 90 mins then there is something far, far, wrong.

I watched it with my Old Man, a season ticket holder at Parkhead but a thoroughly miserable * when it comes to football, he thought it was the best game of football he had seen in years. I tended to agree with him, I thought it flew in - the mark of a quality contest between 2 evenly matched teams.

I hope the game in Ireland is a carbon copy personally.

I was just wondering what the point of this thread was.
I didn't know Ireland had a national football team. :icon_mrgreen:

As I said to Dev, it depends what you want to see from a game of football. Take our game against Inter this season. That was a great game to watch, with two pretty evenly matched teams also in my opinion, but the game itself was totally different to the Scotland v Ireland game. In fact, our game against Inter is probably the best game I've watched this season, purely from a footballing perspective. There was very little football got played in my opinion in the International game, in terms of an all out battle, you couldn't fault it, but I prefer watching a good attacking game of football if I'm honest, over a scrap.

Scots are definitely winning in Dublin.

Ireland are guff, a must win game and the group is only half way there.

I think we will draw with Ireland in June, as we have not defended leads very well away from home in this campaign.

I wouldn't like to see a carbon copy of last night's game, i'd prefer to see us keep a clean sheet and stick 3 or 4 past Scotland :p

Our defence completely capitulated over a short period of time in the Inter game before we had our spell of having them on the ropes and their defence did the same.

There was more to the Scotland and Ireland game than a scrap. It was a brilliant game of football to watch, especially for the neutral.

The Scotland vs Ireland game was howling. We left the game hearing a lot around us saying similar, there were very few chances. The goal (great bit of football) and did Ireland hit the bar? Apart from that there was nothing.

Close games can be excellent but in this case it was a drab affair (although a massive occasion), lit up with one moment of magic.

Our game against Inter, you had two teams thinking about winning first and foremost, and it was a game that was end to end. The Scotland v Ireland game, the initial thought from both teams was not to lose in my opinion. A game with very few chances, and very few players who stood out. By your own admission, there was only one player on the park who got his foot on the ball and made a few passes. Not my idea of a great game by any stretch. Depends on what you like to watch though.

No doubt about it. If we want to have any chance of qualifying we simply must beat Scotland and indeed follow that up with wins against Gibraltar and Georgia which are the next 2 matches we have after that.

All on the next game for me. Win it and I think we make the playoffs ( at the Jocks expense.) Fail to win it and we are *.
