turning the footballing world against celtic so the attention is deflected away from their ineptitude. imagine if everyone whose boss complained about them sucking at their jobs went on strike. half the world would shut down. celtic need to come out and point out this is a good opportunity to sack the entire lot and bring in refs from overseas. if these blokes want to come back and work in scotland again, they must meet quality standards. but none of that will happen. there will be no fitba next weekend and everyone will blame us

i wouldn't especially as the SFA may well draft in refs from wales or even ireland for this weekend; plus the refs strike may well be a good thing in the long run, we might actually finally see some change

i can just imagine what the hun reaction would be sunday if they had a ref called Seamus O'Riley :56:

No, this strike is playing right into the hands of Rangers. I want them playing as many games as possibly with their light squad.

Ref's striking; there is just no point of it. They are just drawing attention to how awful they are.

We get foriegn refs. Pretty much perfect situation for Celtic.

Tbh, I feel that Celtic are getting bad press from this just because we're showing backbone adn standing up to this shambolic Association. The other 10 SPL teams shoudl show some balls instead of sucking up to that lot for some scraps of the table.
At least Hearts officials have came out and said somthing as well. But we need every team to follow suit. This shoud not be a fight between Celtic and the SFA. It should be the SPL against Rangers

the problem is the rest of the SPL simply see us as the other side of the "Old Firm" coin and the fans of the other clubs are too set in their inferiority complexes to ever count on them for support

we are in this on our own; and to be honest i'd say the refs and the SFA are finally beginning to crack

I think the refs striking will be enough for us. As the club have hoped it might bring about an investigation by uefa. We have been promised an upheaval of the reffing system but as yet nothing.

No need for us to strike.

Well we have got to do something mate, stand up and be counted. No way should we should be put under pressure (which the refs are doing by striking) to keep our mouths shut. My main hope is Dr Reid follows through with his strong words last week.

Says it all.....I don't beleive we should strike, but i sure as * beleive there should be some perspective.....this is not about Refs making mistakes, its about them being totally uncompitent in performing their duties....i am sure the "lie" by McDonald/Dallas = Gross Misconduct.....

You should be banned on here for a period of time to let you cool down, you're always complaining about others opinions and have massively green-tinted specs on concerning the "conspiracies".

Just because some users have different opinions to others doesn't mean they're huns. :31: Ignorant man. :31:

Regarding striking - no, don't be stupid; let the refs strike and Celtic should report it to UEFA etc.

celtic's best policy is to do nothing for now; the ref's are harming their credibility more than anyone else ever could with this ridiculous strike; why should we stop them?

imagine how daft they'll look if the SPL draft in refs from the Welsh or Irish leagues for the weekend and they perform well; their (the scots refs) credibility would be shot

of course, its nonsense to suggest that we are not their target, the fact they are implicitly accusing celtic fans of "death threats" etc is framing it as merely a celtic ref problem as if we are responsible for it!!! even bbc scotland has a video called "celtic v the refs controversy"; if they werent so * incompetent or at worse bias then there never would be a problem

Just read from someone on facebook this would be a illegal strike from the Refs and the SFA are under contractual obligation to make sure there are refs at this weekends games? Anyone else under that presumption as well? Sue the * for lose of earnings anyway :50:

If this strike does go through and we get refs from elsewhere or let grade 2 refs have a chance it will be great to see what the green brigade do sat. I loved there show the sfa the red card banner

It's not illegal because the ref's are self employed

But the SFA have a contractual obligation to provide SPL matches with refs

Doesn't matter the strike still isn't illegal. As long as they can grab refs from the continent or England then the SFA have fulfilled there contractual obligation.

which in itself is an utter embarrassment for an allegedly professional football league

we need full time refs who can actually pass basic tests on their reffing abilities, what we dont need are a bunch of teachers, lawyers, policmen. sinister ministers and other petty authority figures on the ultimate power trip doing refereeing part time

i welcome their stike, the SFA are contractually obliged to provide the SPL with refs, whether scottish or not so i think the games may well go ahead this weekend with welsh and dare i say irish refs; old walter would be positively fuming!! :56:

    * the lot of them!!!!
