The club have every right to issue an apology, it's a shame they were put in such a situation in the first place.

The GB said no bloodstained poppy on our hoops, implying therefore that the whole support agreed with them when that is clearly not true, the hoops belong equally to those fans who want to see the poppy on the top, those who think the players should decide, those who don't care and those who are against it.

They are trying to pass of their opinion as the opinion of all or at least a majority of fans when clearly they have no-way of knowing what the majority of fans actually think.

In a crowd of over 50,000 people, not to mention the huge support not at the game then there is obviously going to be a huge range of political opinion so by the GB actually making this stance they are causing a division between fans.

They have every right to voice their opinion (but not to try and pass it off as everyone's opinion) however, is it in the best interest of Celtic? I'd say no, and it's nothing to do with what the huns or their media think it's because as Celtic fans we should be united in supporting Celtic, no matter what our political beliefs, where as all this banner has done is caused in-fighting amongst our own support.

The GB bring a great atmosphere to the games and should be applauded and encouraged for that, however, they can not think they speak for the whole support on matters such as this as we are an extremely multi-cultural club, with an entire spectrum of opinions on every topic under the sun and as such the only thing that really connects all of us is our support for Celtic so they should stick to supporting Celtic and not causing divisions between fellow supporters.

Doesn't belong at Parkhead a place where you go to get away from daily life, politics and the wife support the greatest footballing team on the planet where you will feel passion and pride and every celtic fan will welcome you as part of the family regardless of religion, age or skin colour we do not wont to be portrayed as bigoted as our poor neighbours, Celtic won 9-0 on saturday had a football related protest against the SFA yet still this banner gets more attention.

Because it isn't representative of the Celtic support as a whole. Im not against mixing politics and football, a football arena is a good place to convey a political message to the watching press but the Green Brigade have a section of 300 fans yet those banners took up that whole corner and therefore makes out that it was the whole corner with the banner. They should show respect for the opinion of others, hence why they shouldn't boo or sing during the silence, instead they shouldn't turn up or they should go in ten minutes after kick off.

well you know fine well as do i, that at our club, politics and religion play a big part with our fans.

denying it would be stupid, all im saying is if you dont want to see it then parkhead isnt the place to be, (btw im not telling you not to go to parkhead), but i knew as should most on here that something like this would happen tbh.

The reporter on Sky says she's been on many club fan sites reading opinions. The Green Brigade were mentioned on sky as a small minority of the fans. 2? My mistake.

yes i respect their opinion, and im sure most of the support respect their right to an opinion, but the banners they displayed tried to speak on behalf of the whole crowd when it is simply not everyones opinion.

I thought the poppy was to remember the war dead, no matter what side they are on?

Singing rebs is good and fun, but I dont agree with the display on Saturday. Each to their own. Green Brigade are making out that what they say goes in relation to Celtic.

Total embarassment.Since when did Ireland equate to what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan?Ireland and its troubles was like a squabble in comparison! The amount of people that have died over in these countries is in the tens and hundreds of thousands. How many people actually died at the hands of the British troops in Ireland over the whole period, compared to those killed by the IRA and UDA/UVF?What about the anti-American protests....where are they?It is Nato troops,of which we have a small percentage that are in Afghanistan, and i for one totally support them.I disagree about Iraq, but i am fully supportive of the fight in Afghanistan.
The wearing of the poppy is meant to remind people of the 2 world wars..it may officially represent other troubles, but it is WW1 and WW2 that it is mainly about. What do those in here think Britain should have done at those times? Were they "murdering *"?How dare they fight Hitler and Stalin?
