dear lord, firstly your team is average, nothing special at no point did you play us off the park last night, just took advantage of our mistakes.

And you've got a cheek, we dont know what football is? Portuguese teams are the shame of European football, i seriously struggle to sit through a game watching your play acting, diving, and fouling. If I had my way you would be banned from european competition, its a disgrace, you cant play football - face it, 90% of your game is spent rolling around the ground and trying to fool the referee. Same with Porto in the UC final against us, the whole world watched that and cringed at what you lot are doing to football!

Do they have awards like best supporting actor in portugal, you know instead of player of the year and what not?

Sno and Lennon. You can't think of winning with such a pish poor center of midfield.

 

Sno's form has gotten him in the Dutch Squad and Lennon was fairly good this season. Both played * the other night. We were missing Gravesen from our midfield though

 

i don't think pearson is a left winger,just because he has a left foot doesn't mak you a left winger,he is best at the petrov role in my opinion.

everything was wrong i think the younger guys just bottled it.caldwell meant for the ball to run through but it hit him.the first one though nuno gomes was never getting too we hsould have went 4-5-1 with jarosik just in front though he hasn't been playing well i doubt he would have bottled it like the others

 

Pearson is a reserve player, I dont rate him at all. Alright at SPL level and in the CL he looks mince. Left Wing?? FFS

I thought we would go with the exact same tactic and selection as the CP game, that would have worked.

 

IMO, Benfica are pretty classy in attack and midfield but their defence is total mince and their goalie is shocking. If JVOH had been available and we had gotten loads of crosses in we would have scored a few. Their midfield did defend well from the front by pressing though.

 

BTW, I agree with WGS that we do not have a jinx away in the CL and that it is just a case of playing much better teams than we face inthe SPL when they have home advantage too. That is why I do not fear Copehagen away. They have home advantage but, unlike most CL teams, are not any better than the top SPL teams and I think we will beat them. I would not read too much into their victory against Man U reserves.

 

We lose games away the other team dont win them imo

 

Fairly good is maybe enough for SPL, but surely not for CL. Gravesen is badly needed. And in my opinion things would look very different if Celtic had signed Anatoliy Tymoschuk from Shaktar.

 

Tymoschuk is overrated and certainly not worth €10M, which was the asking price. I agree we need someone better than Gravesen, Lennon, Sno, Jarosik, all average European players at their best
