In fairness though, everything does your * head in. :icon_mrgreen:

No offence mate, but I've rarely if ever seen you anything but totally * off at any Celtic-related development.

Red, I was there in the late 50's early 60's when people were forming a boycot, in the days that on a friday night there could be 17000 to watch a reserve game and the next day maybe 10 or 15000 to watch the big team, now I'll say that part of that was due to Jinky and a few more who were coming through.
But I love this new found image of Celtic supporter's, if you don't stand up 100% for the club, if you don't have a season ticket, if you leave before the end, your not a fan.
I have been told that I'm not a true fan because I live 3000 miles away, funny that.
I get to 3 games a year and my cost is about 10 season ticket holders, and I love every second of it, to this day it reminds of the days when I was getting lifted over, ye we're all tims.

Both sides of the "fair weather fans" debate have a point.

There are fans who would love to attend but simply can not afford it just now.

There are also fans who have decided that even although they can afford a season ticket, the standard of play means they don't see it as value for money and have decided not to renew.

There are also "fans" that simply go when times are good, as we're going through a rough patch just now they aren't around.

As for DD paying for either of the Keane deals I've stated this several times now. As a PLC listed on the AIM stock exchange in London, we have to follow certain regulations when preparing financial statements. One of those regulations relates to Relate Party transactions and the disclosure of such transactions.

FRS 24 and chapter 8 of the listing rules cover related party transactions, here's how the listing rules define a related party:

Clearly DD falls into both these categories.

Here's a list of what a related party transaction is:

Clearly DD paying for either the loan fee and or the wages would be a related party transaction.

Now here's what needs to be disclosed:
That's a * of a lot of information that MUST be included in the financial statements if Celtic are to keep their listing on the stock exchange. The fact that it's not included in the financial statements is proof that DD did not finance the deals. However, it also provides the proof that we have been ran in such a manner that the club were able to finance these deals ourselves which goes to show on a financial level we are being run in a strong manner.

Of course the footballing side matters most to us as fan (including the board seen as they too are fans) and things haven't gone well recently on that side but the problems can't just be thrown at DD. Our football problems have been a combination of board decisions, footballing decisions, manager errors, players errors etc.

Although by no means perfect, the board has done a good job to ensure we are as financially secure as we are in the current financial climate.
