yes there is a * of a lot who seem to have decided over the last couple of years when we havnt done so well. bit of a coincidence that aint it ? dont kid yourselves on. we have glory hunters just like everyone else. for every 1 fan that genuinly cant afford to go anymore i reckon there is 10 more that is not going because we aint that good anymore!

No, I don't think it's a coincidence at all that over the last couple of years, the worst financial climate we've seen in decades, attendances have fallen, mostly because it's not a coincidence, it's a direct result of it.

I've not checked the statistics but I'd be willing to bet attendances generally haven't been going up at most clubs in britain or europe recently.

I'm not saying there aren't glory hunters leaving, but I think you're getting the ratio of glory hunters to people that can't afford it anymore a bit wildly out of balance. Spunking hundreds of quid on a season book is a massive luxury for lot of people right now.

Re-iterating your point doesn't make it any more correct, even if you do put 'point * blank' after it.

Respond to the comments made - it makes for a good debate?

The clowns that support the team when we are winning.....

Here I was brought up during the 9iar years at a protestant school at the time I was so proud to be a tim even though we won sweet f.a. My first real taste of success was the coca cola league cup in 1997 and that was celebrated like a title win nowadays.

And others have been brought up with less success.............

    We will be back :celt_2:

Wasnt having a go bud lol just dont think celtic gained supporters or lost supporters because we were winning or losing

I would define part time supporters "and not in a bad way" as people who follow celtic because of which "player" plays for the club

If someone was to say to me " I dont support celtic anymore because they didnt win the league" I wouldnt consider them an actual supporter in the first place lol

Correct m8 I stand corrected :50: But to keep in line with the thread..... where would we be with out DD. IMO no Matrin O'Neill for a start. DD is our unsung hero, that is the main target for criticism when when are not playing well. As I said earlier our modern day Fergus McCann. Please correct me if i'm wrong but did he not pay out of his oan pocket for keano ,or was that an other rumour??

I'm not sure about the Keane thing but I agree about DD - he's done a good job for us.

Near am I m8 about keano........but without his support we'd be a lot worst off. Some mods etc have mentioned if he puts any more money into our plc he will be forced to take control. He gains nothing through us financially wise, so why my question is do some supporters make him the bad guy??

We don't need £30million to finish above the Huns? Well we have spent much less than that and finished far behind them, so 30million would be a start.

It suits some people to blame the 'suits' on the board. Kind of a romantic throwback to the 90s or something, maybe?

I wish the * all you so called fans would stop calling fans short term fans, where the * were you when we were down to 15000 at Celtic Park and more, our fan base has went up and down but that doesn't make them any less fans, or are we fascist, what about all the fans who left before the end today? are they any less, I hate seeing it but that is their loss not mine, so he who has not sinned let him cast the first stone, * holier than thou *, does my * head in:47:

I used to slaughter the board, and mabe they could of did more but the facts are we nearly went out of business before and in these financial climates we need to be prudent.

In this window Lennon, the scouts and board have done excellent. Lennon is assembling a side that can win trophies, while we can't compete against epl sides for cash we can still compete on the park.
