    Scott Brown

I do wish someone would tell me what the Celtic hierarchy see in this guy, he's a liability rather than an asset! Lenny hooked him @ Utrecht but then started with him against Motherwell, where he done * all ! Juarez is ten times the player that Brown is.

He was hooked as he was booked. Lennon likes his drive. He will remain

Here comes the usual * from the fans, Celtic not doing well, who can we blame??? Our captain who has performed very well in most games this season, to be a good midfielder you dont absolutely need to be great on the ball like Juarez, just to have that energy and aggression so teams can't win the midfield battle, he deserves praise imo for his start to the season, he has had a couple of off games but so has EVERY other player. Zaluska, Mulgrew, Loovens, Hooiveld, Ledley all been very average in first few games.

I don't think Brown can win, nobody can sit here and tell me he hasn't performed well in the last few games, with the exception of the away legs at Utrecht and Braga where he was very average (along with 10 other players) I think he has put in a good shift in every spl game and I thought he was one of a few players who peroformed well in the Braga home leg.

Possibly MOTM against St Mirren and has shown great form, he is tracking back, making effective runs from midfield, linking up play, making tidy challenges, trying to get on the scoresheet and basically is playing as the complete box to box midfielder and still getting slagged!!!

I hope he doesn't read this thread, he doesn't deserve this stick :38:

Totally agree mate. I have been happy with Broonys input so far this season. So frustrating when all you read on this is "fans" constantly berating our players when we havnt even lost anything yet. Fair enough we are out of europe but lets be honest who thought we'd do anything anyways. This season is about getting the league title back off the mankey mob then build from there.

Anyways this must be about the 1000th thread berating Broony....getting old.

it takes alot of different types of players to make a team. its fair to say that he hasnt turned into the player we thought he was going to be when he signed from hibs but i dont blame him. i blame gordon strachan when he was at hibs he was a box to box midfielder who scored goals. strachan changed his still of play more to a defencive midfielder he is unrecognisable to the player he used to be but i still feel we need him in our team he has heart, desire and drive he has experience in playing for celtic in scottish football which our new midfielders juarez, ledley and kayal do not. i think taking our away european games out of the equation he has played well and will contribute to the team this season. i think alot of supporters are on his back because their still expecting brown to be the player he was at hibs but they need to realize he is a player who has had alot of his natural talent coached out of him and he will never be that player again. i for one think we need him in our team.

I think we have 5 good central mids in brown, juarez, kayal, ki and ledley.

Kayal and juarez would be first picks for me, then ledley, brown and finally ki (only because he is still adjusting to the brittish style).

Granted brown has looked better of late but he has the concentration span of a goldfish most of the time and dives into challenges giving away needless fouls. He should play a big part this year, then hopefully we will get a decent fee at the end of the season.

This is now and as much as I don't rate brown I will give him my support, especially as he has showed flashes of late, of why we bought him.

Scott Brown has let us down more times than he has produced for us. The man is a joke imo. He can't pass, simple five yard passes become 30 mph blasts that his teammates have to control with their chest. He can't shoot, he can't tackle, he can hardly go a game without getting booked, he can't handle the pressure and bottles it all the time. Not one fan can tell me what Brown provides to the team without using the words 'grit, determination and hunger'. I'm sorry but 60,000 fans every week would give that but, like Scott Brown, they don't have the talents to match. He talks a good game yet rarely delivers. The fact that this man is our captain symbolises how poor the past 2 season have been. He never turns up when the going gets tough, he never takes a game by the scruff of the neck. What does he do instead? Stare at opponents, shout at the ref and give away stupid fouls. He must be one of celtic's most booked players of all time. I'll never forgive him for letting us down at Ibrox in February, absolute disgrace. The only time i have seen him play well was the last 8 games of last season, when the pressure was off and no one really cared. He shouldn't be near our reserve team let alone be our captain!!!! Get rid.

He is playing his best football and still not creating or scoring anything. What does that tell you about our supposed box to box midfield dynamo?

I've praised him as he has been playing well but is there room in our midfield for an energetic player that can't pass or shoot? I don't think there is personally.

i disagree - Fans have every right to complain about a guy who was signed for 4.4mil and earns 1.3mil per annum and fails to produce. He is an embarassment.

    was petrov but now McManus
I was slating long before he became captain (how did that happen?). At the end of the day he can't shoot and he can't pass so what the * does he do? I don't think i've ever seen him play a perfectly weighted pass that splits a defence? *, I've seen Crosas do that on a number of occasions and he's nowhere to be seen! I've also seen Crosas score a couple of brilliant strikes! It's all good beating the likes of St Mirren and Motherwell but our reserves cost more money than their first teams. In the past 6 months when we've reallly needed a performance from Brown i.e. Braga, Utrecht, Rangers he's either been hooked or sent off so don't talk *. The guy is a terrible footballer.

I fully agree , The guy cant shoot , His temperment is suspect and his ball control is sadly lacking , Yes the guy has had a decent start to the season but no way was the guy worth 4 million

He created for both Samaras and Murphy in the last game for starters. I expect him to score a similar amount which Lambert would in a season playing behind Burley.

ryt how is Brown an Embarassment ?
ur opinion i can understand , but he aint an Embarassment , a player who is determined , i believe when he is settled in with the right partner in cm he will up his game and show us hes worth fot wat we bought , if we bout him 4mil(i think) and he was a big talent , lets be truthful here , Talent doesnt just go away , can u blam for not settling in ?? , he is playin alongside a few different players every season!
