Are you homophobic?

Discussion in 'TalkCeltic Pub' started by Mystic Penguin, Sep 1, 2010.

  1. I hate that word, "tolerate". Always sounds so patronising and condescending, and still implies that you feel they're doing something wrong. I prefer "not giving a * because it's not an issue" over "tolerate" any day of the week.

  2. No I'm anti-homophobic.

  3. we can really only force people to be tolerant though... we cant force them to like gay people, sadly it has a lot to do with how theyre brought up etc

  4. tolerance is the acceptance of it going on without any active opposition. For example, you might not like it but you accept it as there is nothing you can do and you can't control people.

Live and let live i say

  5. Definately not. My best friend is actually bi, but she's been with more women than men and I have no problems with it at all. Love is love in my book.

  6. Nope .
I've got alot of gay friends and I hang out in Gay bars with them.
Alot of people presume i'm either Gay or Bi because of the way me and my friends act tbh.

  7. Yes I am.... I'm tolerant, I respect, I don't discriminate and I think they should be able to marry, live together, express their love, have their spaces, etc.

But I don't like them, the farther the better....

  8. Im not gay or nothing but i dont know how people can not love Louis Spence :56:

  9. ... segregation isn't really tolerance, now, is it?

  10. i think this was mentioned in the random chat thread but i think its quite impossible for celtic fans to not have some sort of man-love for big dolph...

  11. +1. Agree.

  12. No, it is not.

But I do not segregate, neither support segregation. But if I am free to chose, I chose not to have anything to do with them.

It's like choosing Coke or Pepsi... I simply prefer Coke, but I have nothing against Pepsi.... :50:

  13. thats alot of negativity right there.

"homophobic" is a stupid word which means "fear of humans"

  14. I'll have to have a word with my gay friend - Coke or Pepsi, mate?

  15. Being tolerant towards something means that you do not like it, but that you will not make a big deal about it.

I do not like it when people say they "tolerate" certain minorities.

The key for me is respect. You should not tolerate people, you should respect them.

  16. I'm quite okay with them as people, but it's the parades that get on my nerves. That's one of the reasons why there's hate for homosexuals.

  17. It's hard to say that you have nothing against Homosexuals if you openly say you don't want anything to do with them. There must be a reason for not wanting anything to do with them, ergo you have something against them.

It's the "I don't mind the ** so long as they sit at the back of the bus where I can't see them" mentality all over again.

Actually "*" a Greek prefix meaning "the same", so it means "Fear of the same", as in fear of two people of the same *.

    *Slur for demostration use only.

I'm in no way homophobic. I don't discrimiate against gay people, its wrong.

However, I don't appreciate it being shoved in my face. You know, those really eccentric gay people? Thats annoying and I don't appreciate it.

  18. Its not something i really worry about tbh you are what you are. Some camp people annoy me tho like the diva type gay people, thers no need for that nonsense! The people who act like the guy from pineapple dance club :31:

  19. * pretty much what I said man. I agree with this. Its nothing more than annoying.
