Keane v Stokes......

One scenario is this:

Sign keane on 65k a week and sign stokes on 10-20k a week.

Stokes scores more than keane and so does hooper. Why is keane on more than treble these guys wages and what does that do to team morale?

 

I'm not wearing green tinted glasses here and believing that there's now way he could be a disaster because he very well could be but I don't think people should jump all over him until that time arrives, or not!! Maybe his form has suffered because he's known about Celtic interest from start of season because this has been rumbling on for a while now! Just a thought

 

The only way this scenario could happen is if Keane gets injured. He hits the pens also remember.

 

Fair enough but don't expect much. He's got no pace either. Might score a few at home if we're lucky.

 

I think your wrong and also right at the same time. keane has bad knees well documented although Keanes a good player he could end up a waste of money if he does get injured. his wages would cost more than stokes' transfer and wages for a year! I would go with the hit or miss signing that is stokes if it goes * up we can always try loan keane in january.

 

In the ideal world Keane is a no brainer.....but as we dont have that amount to money to spend then the pure football decision gets replaced by a business decision hence we sign Stokes. He can score and in a Celtic team making chances he will score, after 2 season he gets shifted on for 2-3Million and the accountants are happy......simple fact of Scottish football...

 

2 Different players anyway, Keane gets more involved in the build up and would get more goals and assists than stokes hence being the better player, id imagine stokes would get some amount of goals though

on a news bulletin here in ireland, should be everywhere now. said 1.2 million.

 

SSN says a £1.2 million fee has been agreed. he should sign sometime tomorrow.

and about the re-sale value. you would get more money for a 30 something keane than you would for a mid/late twenties stokes. but you would have to pay 10x the amount for keane now that you would for stokes. so in terms of a per centage, stokes wins by a * country mile as you could see him being sold for £3 million in a few years (100% profit) but keane would go for £4-5 million tops in a few years (50% loss).

 

Stokes scored a barrel load for a team who are, let's face it, worse than us.
I think he will be a hit at Celtic, he's still young and I for one, can't wait to see him in the hoops

 

In the mean time this thread ,If it was a 2 year deal between Keane and Stokes i would have Keane but the sell on value would be Stokes ,Keane would cost maybe 5-6 million to buy you wouldnt get that back in 2 years ,Stokes will cost a Million and possibly could go for 5 million in 2 years time .

its just to rich for celtic, we cant afford keane!

 

Keano if we had the dosh, but we don't so Stokes will be a good addition to the team. We now have two goal scorers in the team, a first for a couple a season. We watched too many changes being missed last season, hopefully this has been fixed now
