On about signing Stokes- I mean come on, his not good enough to be in first eleven even with 1 muppet gone and the other still there. D Riordan came and went like i belive stokes will. Think we need spend similar money we spent on fortune on a goalscorer. No european football to lure them with though! :31:

He really shouldn't of played lastnight, clearly is head wasn't in the game and Lennon should have seen that.

i can see what you mean. but i wouldn't say he played in midfield. i would say he played in a 3 pronged attack, out on the wing.

but to reiterate, he did nothing and was an empty jersey.

My evaluation of Fortune: Not total *, but certainly far from great. Overall happy enough to cut our losses and get rid even if it means blowing a million or so on him.

Might explain his part in last night's * take. With the benefit of hindsight it makes you wonder why he was even played.

This certainly means we're buying at least one new striker, because we only have Samaras and an injured Gary Hooper left.

Funny guy, oh wait a minute...:97:

I said when he did score a goal in a match, people said that, and when he didnt, "Oh thats * fortune' is *". So he never really stood a chance of having fan support. He wasnt an out and out goalscorer, i dont know how many times that needs to be said, thats why he didnt score 30 goals a season.

So you and one other person have a different view, so therefore, your view is the correct one and apparently you have to correct me? No need to pretend your Mr Intelligent and patronise other people because they have different opinions.

just wondering i take it you don't think that stokes is a goals scorer with 36 goals in 54 SPLgames

but you want to spend 3.8m on a player like we did with MAF, was he not brung to the club to score goals?

i would rather spend money on a player who have proved he can score in the spl like stokes and still get an other forward in aswell since we have only hooper who is out for 6 weeks plus 2 weeks on top of that getting 100% match fit, samaras who is not a guy who will get you 20 goals a season and also murphy the last time he scored 20 goals was 5 years ago when he played in ireland

just don't see why people try and knock stokes he has proved he can score in the spl, how can you knock that please tell me?

He signed for a new club the next day, of course his head wasnt in the game, again, it seems to be picking him out for the reason we lost.

had 2 or 3 good games for us, did not put in enough effort imo, so not too down that hes off, just wish we broke even on him and got back what we paid for him, another in a long line of expensive flops...

danny can i ask you this, do you think that 3.8m was well spent in MAF, when we could have got fletcher from hibs

we did need a forward to score goals did we not, well we had one in skippy and MAF played in front of him, no wonder skippy got * off, who would'ent

but you have to ask yourself this 3.8m for a guy who was very avarage is poor

Striker that dosent know where the goal is and prefers playing as a right winger. Good * riddance.

Now let's see the back of the other big jessy Samaras, not as bad as fortune but still not a striker.

:97: - Indeed. If he was consistent he would have been embraced wholeheartedly by the fans. He wasn't. He was only consistent in being inconsistent! It wasn't his fault we paid that amount of money for him, but for a club of our finances, with that price tag comes expectation and he never lived up to it.

i would like to see in any of my posts that my view is based on last night? if that was the case i would want away with all 11 empty jerseys from last night.

i'm basing it on every appearance he had in the green and white hoops. i failed to see what he ever offered us and what his role was in the team. we may as well of fielded an U19 instead of him in any match the last year. absolutely shocking signing. probably the worst in 5 years.

Let me get this straight, i wouldnt have paid that for him at all, he wasnt worth that, i would have much rather had fletcher.

Im saying that he was better then he was given credit for and fans were quick to turn on him.

...i see where your coming from regarding the transfer fee, but last season, nobody was consistant, not one player, but people seem to focus on him and single him out.

    He won't be missed

    * off fortune. The last thing we need are players who dissappear in big games, he was totally unreliable. He never really showed any commitment to the cause, we're better off without his type.:bbpd:
