MURPHY WASTE OF £1.5MIL ? [Murphy threads merged]

It's the white boots I tell ya.. Looks like he's wearing a pair of size 20 clown shoes when he's running.. In the first half he picked the ball up inside their half turned and beat 2 or 3 players and sprayed the ball out wide right.. It was one of the few times he showed he had any pace but maybe he was tiring later in the game.. One footedness doesn't help though because it makes him a bit predictable..

 

He looks pretty clumsy, but it's early days.

Pleased to see him get the goal.

not up to much, and cant see any improvement, we are sold a pup

 

Looks worryingly like a chris killen style player to me.
Fair play to him for taking a good penalty but did very little else.

 

He offers us something different to the likes of Hooper, Samaras and Maloney, okay he ain't fast, but neither was Hartson or Sutton, but both these guys knocked our opponents all over the place, give the guy a break.

 

he did heehaw the day ,but fairplay to him for stepping up for the pen,he must of knew if he missed ,he'd probably be hated by the majority

 

The guy has hardly had a sniff, hope he can do a job for us

 

He's not in the same league as Sutton or hartson mate.

 

was at the game today and thought murphy was one of our best players, won everything in the air and took a few hits for the team, perfect foil for maloney good pairing up top imo......

 

Took his penalty well but still can't make my mind up. I'll wait and see a few more games before I make a judgement. Seems to hold the ball up well.

 

plus the guy acually can play a bit, anyone who says he has no first touch thats not the case......

 

dont think he done anything to convince me that he can offer us anything,but its only been one game mind u

 

Squad player at best no offence to the guy but should not be mentioned in same breath as Hartson/sutton

 

I saw at least 3 crosses that Murphy should have at least ATTEMPTED to make contact with, and he didn't even move a muscle...... Hopefully just stage fright but the lad has a LOT of work to do. Sure, I am very grateful for the goal today, but lets be realistic.. It was just a penalty.

 

he even said himself that he should have been better for them. he needs more games as do many of the team we overall need to gel.

First someone compared him to Sutton and hartson and now he's being mentioned alongside keane. Nothing against the guy but he looks average to me at best so let's cut out the ridiculous comparisons.
